New York City Photo Safari reviews
7 We met our Safari tour guide Zim at Grand Central Terminal and she was thorough as she inspected our small group’s cameras and asked for our expectations. She then used her experience to show us examples of what to take photos of and how.
We walked many blocks outdoors getting great shots - then inside the terminal. She showed us unique and interesting spots and told good stories about the places we visited. We ended up at Times Square and got some great non tourist shots.
She was a pro and a joy to tour with.
Amazing experience with Zim! Zim is very accommodating and experienced photographer, l have passion for photography and I dealt previously with many photographers, by all means the tour led by Zim is a different standard. We covered different places in NYC focusing on architecture and long exposures, I have also learned a big deal when it comes to composition. Thank you so much and looking forward to join you in other global tours!
What an extremely gentlemanly service you receive when you enter this unique shop. Very pleasant calm and know very well what their talking about staff members. Does camera sales camcorder fixes and everything else with a lens attachment and add-ons. Give them a visit folks with all your camera queries
The workshop I went on with this group was very helpful and has really improved my photography skills. They work with any digital camera and really teach you what you want to learn about. The one downside is that they can't really teach you with cameras that use film due to the time it takes for those photos to be developed (as opposed to fractions of a second with a digital camera). They took the group I was with all over Central Park giving us many beautiful angles to shoot. We also got a whole bunch of useful freebies along the way! The guides were very professional and had a ton of experience and knowledge about the art of photography. I would definitely recommend them!
My experience with NYC Photo Safari was incredible! Zim was my teacher for the Central Park class- We started the safari by discussing my expectations and my skill level as a photographer- then we were off to start snapping! The safari began at Bethesda Fountain, and over the 2 hours we covered a large circle around the area. As a beginner, I was hoping for a hands-on, engaging experience; this is exactly what Zim provided. We discussed not only the importance of what you photograph, but why. We found ourselves in (intentionally) tough lighting situations where we had to prioritize one subject over another. We captured details of grand ceilings, massiveness of trees, and movement in the elaborate design of Central Park.
I would recommend this course to all photographers who are looking to expand their knowledge, challenge themselves, and want an unforgettable experience. Zim was kind, patient, hilarious, and made an excellent 'best friend' for my photos. Thank you Zim, and the team at NYC Photo Safari!
Zim was great. Very knowledgeable and attuned to the interests and skills of the group. Definitely recommend.
Zim was awesome, and gave us two great private tours. We chose the private experience since it was just my wife and I, and it was terrific! We shot one afternoon in Central Park, and one night at the Brooklyn Bridge. We got some iconic shots, learned a lot about our cameras (and Zim didn't even use Sony herself, but she had plenty of knowledge), and really had a lot of fun. It was a great "date" with my wife, and I would recommend it to anyone who wants to learn about photography and making great photos in NYC!
