Re-grips and repairs are perfect every time. I don’t get my clubs re-gripped anywhere else.

A place I unconsciously stop by every time I leave Manhattan. There is a J.lindeberg clearance product stand in one corner that is out of season, so if you are lucky, you can get a bargain, and sometimes new products are on sale. And although it's not diverse, there are some G/Fore products, so it's worth stopping by.

Went in to upgrade my almost 20 year old Mizuno irons. Daniel (believe that is his name) helped me with the difference in the newer irons and let me hit as many balls as I’d like. He then suggested to review other brands but I preferred the Mizuno. I purchased the JPX923 forged and couldn’t be happier. Great services

I had a great experience at NYGC this past week. What stood out to me the most was their wide selection of products coupled with excellent customer service.

Mohmed approached me shortly after I walked in. He guided me through the entire store and helped me find everything I needed for my round a few days later. He also made sure that I had input into the selection of products and made sure I had a lot of fun while shopping.

When it came time for clothing, Vivian was a great help as well. She knew current style, sizing and was able to quickly move between me and multiple other customers without feeling rushed.

I went to this shop with my pregnant wife today so i don’t have much time to choose and buy my new clubs, so my impression and experience is over all very good services, my sales person his name is frank, i like him because he doesn’t talk much and gave me everything that i need, very recommended if you’re looking for good quality golf clubs and everything, definitely i will come back again.

I paid for them to put a new shaft on my club and they gave me a regular tour lite KBS 100 instead of the KBS Stiff 90 that I ordered. They also took 2 weeks for this repair because they had to order the shaft and I guess they ordered the wrong one. I’ll be calling them tomorrow to see if they resolve the issue and will provide an update after.

Was excited to go here because I’d heard good things from others. Was incredibly disappointed by the sales people. Waited literally over an hour and a half to be helped and there was only one other person being helped that whole time. Frank the sales guy was kind of a dbag. He told me to grab some clubs to try which was great and then said he’d help me in picking loft/stiffness based on my shots on the simulator when he was done with his customer. I took about 100 shots in the simulator (which was great) and was then ready to be helped and frank was done with his other guy. Then I stood around awkwardly for literally 45 minutes waiting for him to come back over, within sight of him, and he just stood there responding to emails in his desktop. Then he helped 2 other people before me. Thankfully some really tall guy recognized I wasn’t being helped and stepped up. I had wanted to setup a fitting for irons as well and frank acted like it was some huge ask and basically just said no and he was too busy to help me even schedule something. It always blows my mind when a salesperson has zero interest in, you know, selling stuff. Like I want to give you my money, why would you turn someone away from that? Killer business strategy.
That’s part 1. After tall guy helped me out (he was great) I went downstairs to grab some clothes. The lady down there kept telling me that I was grabbing the wrong size and that I shouldn’t try other sizes that were smaller. I’m 36 years old, I think I know how I want my clothes to fit, thanks very much.
In the end I got what I was looking for as the stores selection is excellent, but it wasn’t without a really awkward and bad experience with the sales people (props to tall guy though, he was cool). Maybe take care of your customers who came in person to shop with you as a higher priority than responding to emails in front of your in person customers acting like they don’t exist. Definitely won’t be getting irons here, service is honestly better at golf galaxy and if you can’t beat a big chain on service as a more boutique shop, you’re really just not trying. 2 stars for tall guy, negative stars for clothes woman and frank.

Update: this place is an actual scam. Tall guy said he’d set me up with a 10.5 loft and stiff shaft based on my swing. Just checked and naturally he actually gave me a 9.0 loft that is not regular size and not stiff. He couldn’t find what I wanted in stock (he had to check upstairs and downstairs twice) and so I guess thought it would be ok to straight up lie to me and that I wouldn’t notice. Made the mistake of not checking before I brought it home. Now I have to head back up to Manhattan to return my driver. Glad I checked before using the driver. I literally can’t imagine a worse shopping experience.

Update 2: headed to Manhattan today to return my driver. Frank had seen this lovely review of f his poor salesmanship and told me to ‘enjoy golf galaxy’ on my way out the door and ‘don’t come back. ’ Imagine that, a customer calls you out for not doing your job and your response is to be passive aggressive with the customer instead of actually trying to correct the issue or be empathetic to awful experience they had. This place is stuck in the 1980s in terms of its sales staff and approach to customer service. Laughably bad.

I was in the market for women’s golf shoes and looked around the city on where to go. Found golf city and am glad I did! Mohmed, Dan and Brian were very helpful and knowledgeable with helping me select a shoe. They also have a great women’s selection which can be very hard to find! Looking forward to returning to the golf center for future needs!

Needed a new putter and irons and wanted to test some clubs rather than going straight into an expensive fitting elsewhere. When I first went to hit some balls around, Jay was proactive in helping me fit a putter and walked me through numerous putters until finding one that fit me right and then helped getting it cut slightly and added a new grip. He then started helping me with an iron fitting until close and offered to finish an iron fitting later in the week when I would pick up my putter. Jay then spent another afternoon walking me through multiple iron options, shaft lengths, and flex options (with some swing pointers too)! Overall Jay was awesome, knowledgeable, and friendly and would highly recommend everyone work with him. Top notch experience and great results as well! Thanks Jay!
