You must reserve an appointment in order to visit, I believe this makes it a lot quicker to get things done but there will be a waiting period.

It is the worst place where are most workers are lazy, incompetent and don't want to work properly. By many different reasons abovementioned DMV didn't accept my documents although I prepared the whole set of various docs concerning all possible stuff. It was 13 attepts. Every next representative requires additional doc that is different from previous. When I showed them previous response their reply was in a rude ignorant tone - "I don't care about other worker. Follow my instructions ". And the same nonsence repeated for more than 1 year. Finally in a 1 year after beginning of my tortures this DMV replied: "We are not able to process your case because you can not have LLC name and personal name in title. You need to change title". It was the last shot. I was ready to give up. But then decided to go to another place in Queens. I gave all my docs to local worker. He left only 3 main docs directly connected with my affair and registered me during 5 minutes. It is a miracle!

This dmv need to hire more professional staff. A lot of the staff here don't know how to do their job and give people attitude. Poor customer service

Was told on phone did not need reservation get there stop by a nasty security guard says you need a reservation now have to go back on September 12 at 1245 the security guard needs to learn people skills

The DMV was much better than I remember it, came in to surrender the plates for my mom, got the place in line, day down for 15 minutes and was out of there in no time!

Wonderful experience! The man at the door was so nice. I made a reservation before going. You just walk in and scan the bar code that you received by email and text at the kiosk, get your ticket sit down and wait for your number to be called. Make sure that you have all your paperwork for whatever you are there for ready. Everything went smoothly. Kevin at counter 16 was AMAZING! So kind and helpful. Thank you Kevin!

Don’t be fooled by having an appointment. You will still be waiting endlessly. If you could avoid this place do so.

Look, it’s the DMV. While customers should always be respected as everyone is a customer somewhere, most city and state entities do not hold a reputations of practicing excellent customer service. As a New Yorker, as long as I can be in and out I am satisfied! However, every time I have made a visit to this specific location, I am always met with smiles, great conversation, efficiency and professionalism. That part may seem biased it I am truly not exaggerating! The worst I came across was today with the lady taking pictures was nonchalant while reclined in her chair and it took me a few times to get her attention. I had to tap on the glass but after two taps I got the lady’s attention. Nonetheless, she was not nasty towards me. I also never had to wait for a long period although they do say that there is a wait despite making a reservation. They also ragged on me because I waited until the DAY BEFORE the expiration date to renew my license. It was all jokes but the clerk at counter 22 was quick, engaging and professional, as well as her other fellow colleagues.

All in all I have nothing negative to say about the CI DMV location. Now the DMV office on Atlantic Avenue, that’s a different story! You may have to check the clerks there. Just have your vital documents and a pen on hand and you’ll be fine.

Bad service, they don't have an order, almost everyone leaves for lunch at the same time, it's a crazy place, you don't know where to go Since 12 my wife has been taking out her driver's permit, it's 4 pm and she doesn't come out, what an outrage without eating without anything

I am writing to express my disappointment and frustration regarding my recent visit to the Coney Island DMV. I believe it’s essential to share my feedback in the hope that improvements can be made to enhance the overall customer experience.

Firstly, the extended wait time I experienced was incredibly inconvenient. Waiting for over two hours in a packed and crowded environment is not only frustrating but also inefficient. I understand that DMV offices can be busy, but such extended wait times detract from the efficiency and convenience that customers expect.

Moreover, the difficulty for elderly individuals to follow their reservation numbers on the TV was concerning. The presence of advertisements alongside the reservation numbers made it confusing and challenging for them to keep track of their place in line. It’s essential to consider the needs of all customers, especially those who might have difficulty navigating through such systems.

I would like to offer a suggestion for improvement. Enhancing the organization of the waiting area and ensuring clear visibility of reservation numbers would significantly contribute to a smoother customer experience. Perhaps considering a separate screen for reservation numbers without distracting advertisements could alleviate the confusion and frustration many customers, especially the elderly, might face.

I believe that addressing these issues will not only enhance customer satisfaction but also reflect positively on the DMV’s commitment to providing efficient and accessible services to all citizens. Thank you for taking the time to consider my feedback, and I hope to see improvements in the future.

When down to this dmv to get a enhanced ID and was told by the woman that my middle name is not legal I had my middle name for most of my life and that they can't give me enhanced ID unless I go down to Social Security office and have my middle name taken off what kind of ridiculous thing is that even my non-driver's ID has my middle name on it heavy ID I have has my middle name on it most retarded thing I ever heard in my life

Make an appointment before arriving. If you have no appointment, there will be an employee ready to assist you in making it. It is required in order to get your ‘calling number’. I was surprised by how quickly i was in-and-out. Only took about 45min during my last visit compared to the 2 hour wait time about 2-3 years ago (before COVID).

I needed a non driver ID, I got there 20 min. Before my appointment and the place was packed. 80% of them were immigrants and was confusion everywhere. The lady that was checking the barcode for appointments was clearly stressed but still cordial. 2 hours waiting till I my ticket was called. Thank you guys!

2 hours wait with an appointment. Most rude people doing nothing waiting 30 minutes for each number to show before moving forward. What a nightmare. Giving those stupid people power no managers nothing just bunch of very stupid people do what ever they want and you can’t say nothing. Don’t go there

Not the worse DMV visit. I’d highly recommend scheduling an early appointment — it makes things go a lot smoother. The displays weren’t showing the numbers being called today due to some technical issue, but I received a text when my number was called.

The inside is quite big, but the service quality is not very good. I made a wrong ID twice and took two hours.
