Newark Airport Express reviews
14Completely unreliable. If you need to get to the airport on time or leave at the time the bus is scheduled, you should find another type of transportation.
Waited 25 minutes after the scheduled departure time and the bus still hasn’t come yet. Ended up taking a cab due to chance of missing my flight. Don’t take this at all cost
Only an option when there's plenty of time. Changing at Grand Central was very convenient. But I waited more than 60 minutes for a bus to turn up.
I had a really good experience with the service but just wanted to write a little note of advice. After reading other reviews I decided it would be best to get on at the first stop (Grand Central Station) just to reduce the risk of not getting on the bus and I’m so glad I did! Getting on was fine I was one of 3 people, we left on time etc but got stuck in some crazy traffic around Times Square where we were at a stand still for like 20mins. Granted this is like 11am on a Wednesday so not even peak time. I was panicking I would be very late for my flight. Because we were running so behind, the bus driver didn’t even stop at the other two stops he just carried on to the airport. Grateful for my own flight but also feel for the people who missed it. I can only suggest get on at grand central and also give yourself extra time incase or traffic!
I was nervous about this but our experience was flawless. The driver scanned the QR codes off my phone (I bought the tickets online the night before), loaded our bags under the bus, and then we left from the Grand Central spot- which is actually on 41st street, NOT inside the station- on time. The bus was quiet and clean. We arrived at the Newark airport 45 minutes later (this was late morning on a Monday, so not rush hour.)
Waited for 30 minutes and two scheduled buses didn’t show. Had to catch a taxi to ensure we didn’t miss our flight.
I've been using this service for years and it's fine for what it is. Pro tip: Board at Grand Central or Bryant Park. Be sure to look on maps for where the bus stops are since they're not directly in front of Grand Central. If you board at either of these stops, you'll be one of the only people boarding and you can wait in comfort while the hordes are waiting to board at Port Authority.
Horrible, expensive service. Avoid at all costs. There is no fixed timings on the buses, there is no guarantee they show up. It costs $20 which is crazy for a bus. The 5: 20pm bus before my “5: 45pm” one didn’t show — I’m still waiting for the 5: 45pm one. It’s a private operator and totally unaccountable.
I waited 2 hours at the Bryant park stop because I had already bought my ticket, but it never came. Waited with other people too. Just ended up splitting an Uber at the end. We did not get any updates and the phone number to call was not responsive.
We left on time and arrived within an hour. Just a heads up, it’s 22 to ride. You can pay on their website or pay cash. Also, I wish I had known I didn’t have to go all the way to the grand central station pick up/drop off location (that’s the first stop). It also stops by Bryant park (2nd stop) and I think the port authority (3rd stop). Btw it makes a stop at all 3 terminals (C B A) yea, A is the last terminal it goes to.
We lost our phone. They found our phone. They had someone drive it INTO NEW YORK CITY to return it to us no charge. I have never even heard of such a thing. Stacy and John went so far beyond their job description I still can’t believe it. Fans forever.
Amazingly easy, efficient, clean, fast & reasonably priced.
Wow. Newark Airport arrival to Manhattan on the Newark Airport Express bus is a breeze! The Coach USA Airport Shuttle Bus is at
The far right of Newark Airport arrivals. Put the luggage in the bus hold & show the QR for the online pre-purchased ticket.
Plenty of space on the bus itself, clean, comfortable & even with seatbelts.
The first Manhattan stop took just 30 minutes. The weekday midday arrival was a great choice; no rush hour either way.
Got off at the last stop on Lex & 41st (Grand Central). Hopped on the 101 bus for 2 stops & voila!
I’d recommend it to anyone visiting. It was easy, sAfe, comfortable, reasonably priced & significantly less stressful than LGA, JFK & then multiple subway connections, stairways, rats, vagrants, smelly & so much longer & exhausting.
Bus did not turn up at all for the 6: 00pm service to EWR and neither did the 6: 30pm. No explanation provided except that the bus was stuck in traffic. Had passengers worried who has flights to catch. Pathetic service i must add.
