Nice Matin reviews
17After a week in New York with lots of fancy restaurants. Nice Martin was the best giving a combination of excellence in every aspect.
Another UWS restaurant that I highly recommend. Food is always delicious and the service is impeccable, from the Maître-D, our fabulous server Stephanie R, to all the staff around us. They were very accommodating and attentive, and the cherry on top, the talented kind gentleman that was manning the bar, entertained my twin toddlers so I could enjoy a wonderful meal with friends! I forgot to ask for this gentleman's permission to post a short video of his kindness, so, no video this time, lol.
Not my first time but it’s becoming one of my favorite places in this neighborhood to take friends and family, just because this place carries its business with honesty and kindness.
My fav: The dinner roll is so good with butter lol
It is a restaurant with stylish French bistro dishes in a relaxed environment. The quality of the ingredients is good, the service is excellent, and there is no discrimination. There is no charge on the bill, and the recommended tip amount is also pre-tax. If there are more than four people dining, please pay attention to whether there is a mark on the menu that indicates if there are more than one person, the tip is included in the total price.
Nice Matin was fine, but certainly lacking. The food was good, but not exceptional (there's much better French food in the area - on the same block even). Escargots were bland, service was kind of rushed, etc. I get it's a factory, but dinner took less than an hour for multiple courses. The service was great though - friendly and attentive.
Overall reaction - I wouldn't go back, for the same price and ambiance there's a ton of better places with much better food. My guests and I were in agreement here, albeit disappointed as we had high hopes. Maybe brunch is better
This was my first time dining here, and it was an absolutely pleasurable experience. I usually park on the Upper East Side when I head into Manhattan, but I was looking for a place to eat an early Sunday dinner on the west side based on other plans and was absolutely happy to walk past this restaurant. It has a pleasant ambiance from both the looks of things externally to dining inside (I opted for one of the 1/2 circle booths inside, but with a view of the outside through the open setting. I was happily surprised with the portions, especially for a French restaurant, and the taste was equally superb. Appetizers chosen were escargot (approx 2 in each indentation) and the grilled octopus, both of which were excellent. The person I was with ordered the Branzino which was filleted but very plentiful in side and SO smooth along with the delicious light yellow sauce (didn't check what type). I had the mussels which came in a butter-esque sauce and were delicious (they came with fries as well). Staff was friendly, collaboratively attentive, and the management/owners were pleasant as well. Will absolutely look to come back the next time I'm on the UWS.
Food was tasty. Enjoyed the prix fixe menu for $60 (three course). Especially enjoyed the salade été with fresh melon as it was light and refreshing. Cod was a touch undercooked. Baba au Rhum was a bit dry but meshed well with the crème diplomate creating a nice balance. Overall, would recommend.
I had a large party dinner here with >15 people and it was a phenomenal experience. The manager, Lisa, was super responsive over email and in coordinating the event. My party also included toddlers/young children and the restaurant had kid friendly seating including booster seats and high chairs. Everything went super smoothly the day of the event. The food, ambiance, and service were fantastic. Furthermore, I thought the price of prix-fixe menu was more than reasonable. Would love to have an event here again in the future! Highly recommend!
Pretty awesome place. A little pricey but the food is super good. Not large portions though.
We had dinner at Nice Matin last night, great experience. The setting, the kindness of the team (thank you Abdel) who speaks French and the quality of the dishes.
Excellent!
When our girls were little, we used to come here all the time and loved it. We just came back after a 15-year hiatus and it blew away our very high expectations and fond memories. Everything from the food and drinks, to the service, to the ambiance, A+
We started with the aubergine (eggplant ratatouille with grilled bread) then the agnolotti pasta, hangar steak perfectly cooked with a super creamy potato purée, branzino, Poulet roti with polenta and mushrooms and a summer pasta with zucchini. Everything was seasoned/sauced with amazing flavors. We also shared an order of crispy fries and ended with a homemade peach tart with French vanilla ice cream and a creme brûlée with fresh berries and two tiny but powerful espressos. They have a great wine selection including several from Corsica and great mixed drinks. The spicy margarita is not too spicy and the cucumber cooler (alcohol free) was as refreshing as it was beautiful and delicious. We’ll done!
It was good, very noisy, the staff very pleasant but the value for money is really exaggerated. We tried but we will not return.
Very warm welcome with a very friendly waitress, quality cuisine, fresh products. Do not hesitate!
First time visiting a French restaurant. Friendly atmosphere, seating for 2 by a window, food recommendations were outstanding, Moroccan Spiced Salmon,
Croque Madame, Truffle Cheddar Burger, Dark Chocolate Souffle & Vanilla CrÈme BrulÉe w/fresh berries. It is a favorite of ours now, will be back.
The prices are outrageous, $46 for a steak and fries and what's more, didn't take ice cream, it's popsicles.
Impeccable in every way. From their wonderfully crafted menu where every single dish was delicious, to the presentation of the plates and drinks to the classic NY decor and attentive service. Clearly, no detail was overlooked in creating a perfect dining experience.
Nice matin is a very standard, but nonetheless satisfactory upscale french experience in NYC. I got the comte omelette, and although it’s a bold thing to keep on a dinner menu, it was surprisingly delicious.
Had a lovely lunch here during NYC Restaurant week! The Corn risotto was fantastic. I'll be adding this place to my list for when I return to the city.
Large restaurant with excellent breakfast and excellent lunch and dinner in a refined setting.
Welcoming and efficient staff.
Special applause to Alex's hospitality and professionalism
