Nina’s Great Burrito Bar, New York NY

Mole! It was all about the oaxacan mole that's just the right blend of chocolate and spices making for an amazing, spicy, sweet flavor. That poured on top of a birria burrito, and you are in heaven. Highly recommend the mojito mocktail, guac and chips, and the house salad with carne asada. They make their own dressing, and its amazing.

I'm Mexican. Born and raised in Mexico City, where most of the best food is fixed although most of those plates have its origins somewhere else. I feel very qualified to say thay Nina's is a gem in a jungle like New York. It is authentic Mexican cuisine from various perspectives: food, service, music, furniture, drinks, etc. Do not eat burrito, my suggestion. We do not eat burritos commonly, most of Mexicans don't for that matter. Eat Cochinita Pibil original from Yucatán State in the SW of Mexico, depicted in one of my pictures: Delicious! Eat exquisite Birria, original from the central state Jalisco, also one picture. The best place I have found so far in NYC by far! Mexican food is not only tacos.

We were happy with the food and service. We visited on Saturday early afternoon and started with the hibiscus mimosa and pink lady mimosa and corona with the nachos 3 flags. It included a choice of 2 sauces- the cheese sauce was delicious, green tomatillo (flavorful) and spicy sauce - with fresh guacamole. Thanks for bringing the extra chips basket, we appreciated it. We ordered the birria tacos, shrimp tacos and a healthy oversized chicken burrito bowl. The birria and consume was delicious, well made. The shrimp tacos were ok. The burrito bowl was really tasty and plentiful. We ordered more 3 more margarita & mimosa drinks - the brunch margarita special was nice - a blueberry peach base. We had churros with chocolate sauce and a coffee and a coronarita to complete the dining experience.
No brunch specials, we forked over $180. Our waitress was great tipped 25%. Thank you

Excellent Birria and the Piña Caliente drink was great! If we weren't on vacation from Detroit we would be going back often.

I ordered the grilled chicken burrito bowl and the chicken was mushy and reheated. Server was nice and margarita was good

Best ground beef tacos in Manhattan. I’ve lived all over Manhattan for years and Nina’s is just the absolute best. Love this place

Pretty sure I got food poisoning from the shrimp quesadillas, server was slow, was just meh when there was probably better options around.

Don't know what the gravy/sauce you serve with the Enchiladas is but we thought it spoiled the dish. Tacos were delicious. Will be back for sure.

Terrible!
My partner asked for a small variation on the menu avoiding raw vegetables as she’s pregnant. The waiter promised to take care but first dish was wrong…. Then tried second time…. Wrong again! The waiter laughed at us while we were complaining! Then the manager came in and not only never excused for the ripetitive mistakes but also tried to overcharge the check for the variation! What the hell!
Astonished by the lack of professionalism and capacity!
The care for the customer here is really bottom low! Place to avoid at all cost!

I was really excited to taste the food at Nina's Great Burrito Bar. However, I was left feeling hungry, annoyed and cheated. The waiter took nearly an hour to serve our food. Most of the individuals who arrived after us had been served well before my table of two. When I finally asked the waiter about our food he said that he checked and that it would be another ten minutes.

Unfortunately, the quality of the service continued to deteriorate as once the food arrived and I bit into the burrito, I discovered that it was cold. Very cold. By this time I was aggravated and starving. I alerted the waiter that my food was cold but I was so hungry that I asked him to just throw it in the microwave. I told him that he did not have to bring me a new burrito. Instead of putting it in the microwave he brought me back what was supposed to be a new burrito but it too was cold.

By this time my date is frustrated and wanted to leave. My date was so frustrated that he wanted to not leave a tip. But I did not believe that it was fair to punish the waiter for what was likely outside of his control. Then we observe the waiter chatting it up with another table and my friend points out that the entire time that we were waiting for out food the waiter had not once checked on us to confirm that we had received our food. In the end we left the restaurant feeling hungry, aggravated, and cheated having wasted $60 on cold food and bad service.

I certainly will not be wasting any more of money at this restaurant again. Sadly, once I got home and heated the burrito it was actually pretty good. This just made me even more frustrated because it meant I could have enjoyed a decent buritto had the service not been so terrible.

Nina’s is the best! Favorite flavored frozen margaritas in the city. (Though warning - they will hit hard.) Unsurprisingly, their burritos are BOMB. So good, so big. I almost always get the Piccadillo (ground beef). They’re also very dog friendly!

Very slow can’t-be-bothered table service. Ordered 2 burritos, waited 20 minutes, had to flag waiter to ask if our order was lost, he said no it’s coming. 10 minutes later a pair of average tasting burritos came. It wasn’t very busy so not sure why it took 30+ minutes to make a burrito?

We sat at the bar on a Saturday afternoon. Loved the carne asada burrito bowl and guava marg! Would definitely come back.

We are there regularly! Super good food with great drinks and atmosphere. And the staff is always super friendly and helpful. Would highly recommend for locals and visitors alike.
