Some things are a bit expensive, but every bite is worth it. And the scones are the best around. Great staff.

I had the pleasure of indulging in a slice of their decadent chocolate cake recently, and it was nothing short of a delightful surprise. You know how it goes – you often encounter exquisitely decorated cakes that end up falling flat in the taste department. Well, brace yourself for a delightful twist, because this cake was a revelation. It easily ranks among the top-tier cakes I've ever had.

First things first, the texture was impeccable. The cake wasn't dry or crumbly; it was moist, with each bite practically melting in my mouth. And then there was the chocolate itself – it wasn't your run-of-the-mill, bland fondant icing. No, this was an explosion of rich, deep chocolate flavor that left me yearning for more.

But the real star of the show? The icing on top. It was an absolute triumph. Not overly saccharine like so many fillings tend to be, but perfectly balanced with a luscious creaminess that danced on my taste buds. And there was this subtle, buttery undertone that took it to a whole new level of indulgence.

My advice? Don't even think twice about it. Go ahead, make that purchase, and prepare to be thoroughly amazed. This place knows their cake game inside out, and I can't wait to go back for more.

Wasn’t expecting much, but the cake slices (only thing we got) are exceptional. Really good.

I just had the lemon cake with blueberry compote and it was fabulous! And the staff! Thank goodness there are still people who know how to do it. Greet the customer seems to be a lost art- not here though. I did read someone's review about the frosting being too stiff. You have to let it reach room temp to get the right consistency and to let all that flavor come forward. You should go (and she should go back)

I can't believe that I forgot to take photos of the desserts here. Each thing more delicious than the next. We had:
• an ice cream sandwich: cookie dough ice cream on homemade cookies
• an iced coffee
• lemon meringue item
• molasses cookie

Nine Cakes did our wedding cake and it was the most spectacular, beautiful and DELICIOUS. We went for cardamom lemon (highly recommend!) but also got in the mail a tasting sample with multiple, amazing other options! Betsy is a dream, she got exactly what we had in mind, and the guests loved it!

Betsy at Nine Cakes made us the most beautiful and yummy cake for our baby shower. No one believed that the flowers on the cake were edible.

She perfectly matched the flowers to the flowers we had at the event. I have added a picture to compare the real and the sugar flowers!

I couldn't be happier with the cake and her service! Highly recommend!

What an absolute joy to have this wonderful spot in Hudson! I’ve always loved their goods but was inspired to leave a review today because of just how amazing they are! It was my mom’s birthday today and while she’s not one for a big celebration I wanted to make it a little special - we stopped by and they not only had slices of a beautiful vanilla layer cake with gorgeous fresh strawberries, but to make sure everyone in our group was included they also had slices available of the best gluten free cake I’ve ever had! It was a rich and velvety dark chocolate cake with a delightful raspberry frosting - our gluten free guest swore it was the best they’ve ever had, and upon having a bite myself I would’ve never guessed there was ever anything missing! Service was beyond friendly, knowledgeable, and lovely & helpful
I came in for a quick slice of birthday cake for my mom who would rather not celebrate- but I was so enthralled with it all I left with the perfect slice for Mom, the cutest pink flamingo birthday candle, a slice of gluten free dark chocolate cake, a divine brown butter blueberry muffin for myself, and even grabbed a vanilla & caramel macron to satiate my immediate craving amongst this dreamy space filled with everything one could possibly want to celebrate a special occasion or satisfy a sweet tooth!
I’ve adored this shop for ages but their ability to perfect my day inspired me to leave this review (I love them even moreso now that I know that they have the most delicious gluten free option I’ve ever tried- I would (and will) happily serve this to all my guests for future celebrations)!

I’ve come here here a few times and there are a lot of constants with this place. The younger girls at the counter are very polite and sweet. Now onto the issues, like many others say, it’s very pricey. This wouldn’t be an issue if most of the things that were being served weren’t so bland or just outright bad. I was excited to try the macaroons the first time I came there a few months ago and they were so sweet that I couldn’t eat a whole one. I had to trash the rest because it was like eating a block of sugar. The cookies taste alright depending on which one you get. I’ve tried a muffin which was semi hard, and the sugar throughout the muffin is very thick and grainy. Once again, as many others say, the cakes taste like you’re biting into a stick of butter and that’s true. It’s a bit oily and hard and most of the slices I’ve tried had no flavor except for the fruit based ones. The cupcakes as well are not soft and the frosting has the same issue as the cakes. I’m not saying everything is bad here but I have my qualms.

Nine cakes is awesome! They have constantly rotating flavors of macarons (that are some of the best i've ever had), great big chewy cookies and cakes that you can order by the slice. They also have a great inventory of fun party supplies (candles, paper plates, napkins, etc.)

Good French macarons, I always get them. The only thing is that all of them taste the same, they use just different colors to make them look like different flavors.

I needed to order a cake for a birthday and stopped in at the bakery. The staff was super friendly, and I ordered the Chocolate Decadence cake. After the sticker shock paying for the cake, I was so pleased when I picked up the cake the next day. Beautifully decorated, and byfar the best cake I can remember eating! Yes expensive, but well worth it!

I ordered a birthday cake that while it was visually stunning, was about as tasty as a piece of cardboard.

I just want to share how utterly delicious your cake is! We were able to customize flavors and it made our birthday celebration fabulous!
