Our family was invited to the Dela Subaru spca event. We piled in the car and went down to take a look at the pets looking for forever homes. We live in Vermont so we went to plattsburgh ny. Since we have family members that work at the dealership we got pictures and fell in love with 2 of the kittens they had available.
Upon arrival we learned that adopting the cats was not a same day process so we filled out the application and waited for word.
24 hours later we got word that we had been approved and could come down on Thursday to pick up our new family members. So we loaded up in the car, and went shopping for all the new kitten stuff we needed as our current animals are seniors. After spending $600 we were really to head to Elizabethtown to pick them up. We made one last phone call to confirm method of payment and we're told the woman who processed our application was on a day off but the application was good and we were able to get our kittens.
Not 5 minutes later we got a call from the spca, it was the director who informed us that we'd have to wait another day in order to retrieve our kittens.
If we had been advised of this during the first three phone calls it wouldn't be an issue, however because we had taken time off, purchased items to be prepared for their arrival and were halfway there (we live over an hour and a half away) you can imagine our disappointment hearing that we couldn't come to get our cats. No reason was given.
I find this to be very poor business and very upsetting. We were very inconvenienced and the director was really rude in her delivery of her message. It was received as if we were not fit or being stereotyped solely because we were in a different state or had several animals. Regardless of our pristine care and stellar health of our furry family members.
Don't do business with these people.

This place should be shut down.we found two sweet kittens. We filled out their paperwork, we waited days to be excepted. We were told they were yours. We spent time and lots of money on cat stuff. Get a call as we head out the door to pick them up. The head of the place had a volunteer call to say not to come. She didn't even have the decency to call herself. My wife is devastated. Not even worth the 1 star.
