Northwell Health Center for Adult Ophthalmology, Great Neck NY

The Doctors are all competent but as some have said on here the place is a zoo and everyone seems to be running around frantic. I waited an hour and a half before being seen and when I was seen other doctors kept coming into the exam room asking questions and discussing other patients. The doctor seeing me would ask me a question about my condition and in the middle of answering another doctor would come in and interrupt him. This went on the whole time I was seeing him. This gave me a lack of confidence that my issue would be attended correctly but In the end I believe my issue was addressed. The first time I went it wasn't as bad. I think they probably at times are so over booked that the staff just cant handle the load. Also Lots and lots of young resident physicians there as opposed to older experienced Doctors which I do feel also adds to the issue because of the lack of experience running and office but when you do finally get to see someone the care is good.

Absolutely horrible scheduling department, I will never again try to schedule here. I made my appointment over a month ago for my wife and I. During this COVID time, we both had to take off, find baby sitter for our four children. And we needed this appointment to check our aging eyes as well as for DMV. Only to show up the day of the appointment and be told that we were cancelled. When I called to find out what happened they said i made the appointment and no reason was given but that our appointments were cancelled by me? In which I did not cancel as I showed up for the appointment. And of course they tried to reschedule for a month later. Why would I do that, I needed this appointment today and made all the arrangements to go to see them. Who ever made our appointments I hope someone looks into their scheduling department and finds the person who did this to us so it doesn't happen to anyone else. Please go somewhere else do not go here very unprofessional and incompetent people in their scheduling department and it will cost you a lot in the end.

I made an appointment with the Center for Monday, July 8th at 12: 00 pm. I called the Center on Monday July 8th before the scheduled time to tell them I had an appointment at 12: 00 pm and that I was running late. The woman who answered the phone asked me for my name and date of birth. I gave it to her and asked if it was ok to come at 12: 45 pm, that I was running late. She told me that would be fine. I arrive at the Center at approximately 12: 45 and am asked again for name. I tell them and they ask me to sign in and have a seat. Finally, some 20 minutes later I’m called to the front desk and informed that I cannot be seen that they don’t make 12: 00 pm appointments because the doctors are out to lunch. I call the office who referred me and I’m told that the person who made the appointment for me at the Ophthalmology Call Center never saved it in the computer! What a nightmare! Because I’m on a sliding scale I have no place else to go but I wonder if I should even let them do a simple exam.

As my arrival and my first time with my toddler there were only just a few of the receptions whom smiled at me and greeted me one in particular to first window when you walk in not sure if she was upset or having a bad day but i felt rushed my toddler came out of the room crying twise i went to window not even stickers were offered to my toddler to bring him a smile is not only because of the stickers but make patients feel more comfortable eveyrone else were amazing love love Dr Kruger she was very detailed and caring compationate just for the office reception section there are incharged to make sure all patients are taken care of and comfortable north shore PEDIATRIC need to have more entertainment and give aways my toddler is autistic so he was crying being his first time there.

The staff were amazingly efficient. They were courteous, pleasant and extremely helpful. I cannot say enough good things about Dr. Dua, my ophthalmologist. She was extremely professional, spent a lot of time with me, made the correct diagnosis, came in especially early in order to accomodate me and was kind and pleasant throughout the visit. The rest of the professional staff were equally good.
