Nyc Human Resources Administration

I went there to pick up my fair fare card after two months it was approved (mail issue). I called the HRA office and they told me I could just go in person to pick it up before 5. So I went there, it was 4: 20, and although the official closing time was 5, they closed at 4. The second time I went there before 4, this time the woman behind the window told me she still couldn’t let me pick up my card, despite the HRA office saying I could. Stupidly, she said the card must be mailed once again to prove I couldn’t receive it, even though the record showed they had attempted mailing twice. She promised I would receive it this time because she was handling it now. She gave me her name and a phone number to call her if my card didn’t arrive in two weeks. She said she would be responsible for my card. I was disappointed but still hopeful.

Fast forward two weeks, the card still hadn’t arrived and I called the number every day for a week. Yes, it was a number nobody picked up. For the third time, I went there in person and got to meet another woman, and this time this woman helped me immediately. And she deserves five stars. My comment here is for her. First, she is a wonderful person. She patiently listened to me and my case and understood my situation. She is a very humane, very kind, very compassionate, and very patient person. She deserves a raise. I thanked her very much and she made me feel so much better. I wish there were more people like her working in the government helping people.

The one star is for the first woman. I confronted her and questioned her why she gave me a number she would never pick up, and why she didn’t give me the card last time. She acted arrogantly and said that the number was an office number that was working. She was very unprofessional, acting as if she was giving out the fair fare card as a personal favor. When I finally was leaving with the card, she was brazen enough to say you’re welcome, although she didn’t help at all. I decided to let it go because my gratitude filled my heart and I didn’t want to deal with her.

Merits and goodness matter. And the worse the badness is, the brighter the good will shine.

The securities are nice but once you “can’t read” the signs when you enter the front desk employee close to the Medicaid machine gave a rude tone/attitude for what? It’s my first time being here hopefully my last.

I wish I can give this place no stars I when to the office to give my papper work in and I still didn't get my food stamps yet and when I call to check on my hra case I found out that my paperwork haven't even been processed yet for Oct 11th to Oct 17th and my case will be closed on Oct 22and the mess up part they give you a number to call that nobody and I mean nobody picks up smh

HRA needs a complete overhaul and those supervising this agency all need pink slips. The Mayor is preaching for landlords to accept CityFebs tenants from over crowded shelters yet when the voucher tenants paperwork is submitted to HRA it takes weeks-months for these HRS employees to process the tenants’ applications. Landlords have bills to pay too

I haven't been in this center in years, I was very upset when I walk in an see all these computers smh

Everyone in this center is very helpful and friendly. They also move very quick. The best center I've ever been to.

I just went indoor to relax from the cold. The place was well kept. Security was Excellent.
