Old Westbury Gardens reviews
18These gardens are so beautiful. There is plenty of land to just sit and have a picnic on, as well as gardens and a historic house to tour. Everything is immaculately managed and well kept. There is a cafe on the property that is absolutely wonderful with the kindest staff you’ll ever meet. Overall, this is a fantastic place to have a family day, first date, or personal care day.
What an amazing and unexpected place, it feels like an oasis of greenery and calm, not that far from the city. The flower gardens are gorgeous, it would be the perfect place to come for a picnic and just lay on a blanket for hours reading a book. The staff guiding you around the house are so nice, and they provided us with a lot of history of the family and the house itself. You do have to buy a ticket in advance on their website, but you can also do that on your phone once you get there.
Beautiful house furnishings and well cared for gardens, great for taking pictures.
Now you have to buy tickets on the website to enter, and the room is temporarily closed from 1: 00-1: 30
It’s very nice and beautiful there. So many nice flowers, a very nice mansion and the workers there are very welcoming.
Beautiful home and formal gardens in a very serene atmosphere. Wonderful place to visit for lovers of nature and lovers of history! Part of Long island's Gold Coast
Beautiful. Just beautiful. There are an array of gardens on this property all beautifully designed and planted. The trellises for the rose garden would be the most gorgeous place to take wedding photos. The water features in the English garden and the expansive lawn, not to mention the beautiful house and architecture. This place is absolutely worth the drive and the admission.
Nice house, very nice gardens and flower arrangements this visit was convenient (you should buy tickets ahead online) and affordable. We all enjoyed it very much. A goto place for sure.
Midsummer night was a great event to walk around the grounds or sit down on a blanket and relax
Staff were pushy, controlling, and disrespectful. If you met a certain ethnic profile you were asked to move on if you viewed any exhibit more than 5 minutes
Good garden but the ticket price is too much compared to other places.
Good place to hang out and have picnic.
很棒的地方
Just visited Old Westbury Gardens over the weekend, and it was absolutely stunning!
The gardens were incredibly beautiful, filled with vibrant flowers, perfectly manicured lawns, and charming historical architecture. It felt like stepping into a different era.
A wonderful place to roam around, take amazing pictures, picnic, or relax with a delicious choice from the outdoor Cafe. Wonderful flowers and foliage. Lots of geese in the ponds to observe. The house and it's interior is beautiful and historic. Very educational. Recommend a tour including the kitchen. The house and grounds are a treasure which we are so lucky to still have! Always something different to look at.
During our visit there was a group taking wedding photographs around the gardens, we did not appreciate the photographer telling our group where and when we could walk around when we paid to get into the gardens. The rudeness of the photographer really spoiled our visit.
I bought tickets online over a week before. The tickets were for 6/24 and said you will be open 9-6p on 6/24. We got there at 4: 30p. We were allowed to enter. After we entered we were chased out by a member of your staff who screamed at us, berated us, and humiliated us because she said you made an update on your website saying you will close at 5pm which was definitely not there when I bought the ticket.
My wife and I were there with my elderly parents. It was my father’s birthday! The way your staff treated us was completely unacceptable! It was absolutely the worst experience ever!
Really enjoyed my time with my little sister.
We did have a semistrange interaction with a woman working here. My little sister and I were laughing and one moment to the next the lady interrupted our laughter and said " I hope that flower isn't from here ". I found it on the ground and she proceeded to tell me to put it away so noone would see it. Almost felt like she was offended by our JOY.
Anyhow, she couldn't ruin it. We had a great time and everyone one else was nice.
Great kid-friendly place to spend a spring or summer afternoon here. The only thinner I wish could be improved is to add a real restaurant, in addition to the food stand…
It's a beautiful place to visit. I particularly love the gardens in the spring. It's just too beautiful. Great place for events and pic nics. It requires buying tickets online in advance.
Wow, too beautiful Mansion with its perfect sculptures, very well-kept and beautiful rooms, everything inside and outside is very beautiful.
