Rowan was an absolute sweetheart! My friends and I loved working with her! She made the experience so exciting.

Really fun experience! Helpful staff and a huge variety of scents to build your own with. We had a great time trying different notes and building something personal.

We went for my partner's birthday. He had a reservation but when we arrived there were no seats for us. We weren't greeted right away and waited to see, after 10 mins I decided to just go up and tell the gentleman behind the counter to check in for our reservation. He was nice, the other reps overwhelmed. Anyway, he let us know to smell the base scents on the wall of the store, so we focused on that for like 10 minutes. After my partner choose their scent we went on to wait another 15 mins for a seat to become available. It was inconvenient, and I was a little embarrassed that I took my partner to a place that's listed as such a wonderful experience but lacks good customer service and then asks for a tip at check-out. My tip is: make improvements to the check-in process and hire diverse, enjoyable customer reps.

In terms of the actual product, it was okay, just make sure you speak on what type of scent you are looking to make, my partner was going for a wintery scent. Also, maybe try the other location; Bleeker Street was a flop on a Friday afternoon. In total it was about an hour of experience. The area is nice to go out shopping or for food afterward.

Cute place. Great for an experience. I went for a birthday. I love my perfume. You get a discount for a lotion when you get the perfume.

Went here for my girlfriends birthday and it was even more amazing than I expected. Michelle guided us through the customization process and made it extremely enjoyable and fun while also giving us great detail on each scent accord. Both of our scents came out amazing and we can’t wait to return again soon

We brought in a perfume that had been discontinued and they helped us recreate it. What an amazing experience! The customer service was exceptional. They spent all the time we needed to get it just right. Thank you!

I visited this establishment for my sisters 35th birthday on Tuesday November 1st 2022 at 5: 30pm.the staff was extremely unenthusiastic and not very nice or helpful at all. They ignored us for about 10/15 mins into the experience after I notified them that we had a reservation. When another associate finally came from the back slowly taking his time he began to finally "help" us. He seemed like he didn't care at all to help which was disappointing cause my sister didn't have a nice experience
there at all for her birthday. He didn't teach or take time to really give details on the added scents to create her own scent. She doesn't even know the added scents cause he didn't say much and it was extremely short and quick. He and all the other staff present rushed us through the entire experience. Over all I would never recommend this experience to any one or I myself would never return here. I would give it a 0/10 no stars for customer service if I could.

1. THE OTHER STAFF NEVER HELPED US IN ANYWAY SO IM NOT SURE HOW THEY CAN COMMENT ON OUR EXPERIENCE IN ANYWAY WHEN ALL THEY CONTRIBUTED WERE STARES, DIRTY LOOKS AND IGNORING US.
2. THE LOTION WAS PURCHASED BY ME AS AN ADDITION TO HER PERFUME I ALSO PURCHASED FOR HER NOT BECAUSE OF YOUR CUSTOMER SERVICE PROVIDED BECAUSE IT WAS TERRIBLE BUT BECAUSE I WANTED TO ADD SOMETHING TO MAKE MY SISTER FEEL HAPPIER ON HER BIRTHDAY CAUSE THE PERFUME BUILDING EXERCISE WAS SO LACK LUSTER.
3. SO LETS BE CLEAR ON THOSE THINGS WHAT SHOULD BE "REGRETTABLE" IS HOW YOUR NONINCLUSIVE WHITE STAFF TREATS PEOPLE OF COLOR SPECIFICALLY BLACK PEOPLE WHO THEY THINK ARE NOT WORTH THERE COMMUNICATION AND SERVICE.

I took my wife here for a new experience. I honestly was expecting a more hands on, scientific type of experience where you feel more involved in making a unique fragrance. Based on what I experienced it seems like the combinations are preset being that there are only 9 or so different combinations that can be made for each individual base. They advised against adding more than one addition to the base as it would drown out individual notes which is completely understandable. In my opinion the sent you leave with is unique because its a combination of different things the general public can't pick up at any Macy's but anybody who has made a scent at Olfactory might have also combined the same scent making your perfume less unique. Still its an interesting experience to do with a loved one. Its a bit expensive in excess of $85 for a bottle of perfume. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful as well as knowledgeable in their area of expertise.

I saw my friend went there and they got this customized fragrances and I thought to give it a try.
I went to the “west Village” location at Bleecker st and I was helped by Michael, he kindly explained to me the process to select a base fragrance and then the accents to add to make it more personal.
Process was really smooth and fast and he was taking care of every detail, while he was mentioning the options I had…
Place is pleasant and fragrant (of course) I was amazed by the final product, the bottle is simple and cute and the box is a very good minimalist design.

We hated it. The store smelled so strongly everyone was being sent out to test their perfume. It smelled so strongly, we bought water to rinse out our mouths.

A very unique experience! My boyfriend and I had an amazing time. Our guide, Isabelle, was so knowledgeable and extremely friendly. She made the experience even better! Highly recommend.

I went in a few days ago as a surprise gift from my boyfriend. We were greeted by three girls who were very sweet and accommodating. I have seen this place on tiktok and have been wanting to try it for a really long time. My scentlogist, haha never heard that term before, Sidney was very sweet and knowledgeable. My boyfriend had to run outside to pay for the meter and Sidney talked to me while dropping the fragrances. I am happy she talked to me because I can be a little shy and I was scared that it would be awkward because I did not want to start without him. Our scentlogist described all of the fragrance blends and was very knowledgeable and patient. Sidney even gave me a free happy birthday diffuser which was super sweet and made my day. I can’t wait to come back and treat my boyfriend for his birthday! Thank you, Olfactory.

Never thought buying a perfume could be so much fun. We enjoyed the experience and would recommend our friends to do so too. The staffs were extremely friendly and they really can help you finding the right perfume that suits you. My noise were overwhelmed with the amount of senses in the store at the end, but I’m so happy that I found a new sense of smell that I love and would never even cross my mind in other retails. It’s definitely a unique experience. Thank you!

Super cool experience! You pick a base and then combine the choice base with the other bases. I had to step outside a few times cause it doesn’t seem like there’s any ventilation and it slams you in the face when you walk in. Was sneezing quite a bit after. Went with the Ashton base and bought a travel size hunter and am satisfied! Was worried I wasn’t going to like it since I was just smelling it over and over while I was there, but it worked out.

Me and my husband loved the experience! This location is new and has more space, including an area for private events. The staff is wonderful and genuinely love what they do!
We wish the staff has seating for when they make our bottles and labels!

We were not looking for Olfactory. But once we walked past, my wife said "i've always wanted to do that. " We stopped and had a great experience designing her own scent "Moxie". The staff is knowledgable and relaxed. The price is very reasonable for all you get. I also really like that they have the scent on file and we can re-order or get it into other products. Check them out.

The Olfactory team was great! I’ve tried many different perfumes in the past but never had the opportunity to fully customize one for myself. With a few simple steps, I walked out the door with a beautifully packaged bottle of a Hunter blend and fully plan on going back to use their cool new refill station. It was super fun and couldn’t have been more seemless. Thank you Olfactory!
