Om Factory reviews
16Om Factory has become my home away from home. I’ve taken classes with almost all of the instructors and they are incredibly knowledgeable - there’s a style and level for every type of aerialist! I took my vinyasa, aerial yoga and advanced aerial teacher training here and received so many opportunities to teach here and at other studios and gyms because of it. The community here is wonderful and warm and made a lot of friends here. I would encourage everyone to take a class here, sign up for teacher trainings to learn how to teach or advance your own practice. The space is also absolutely beautiful, calm, clean and centrally located near Union square.
Beautiful space, airy and clean. I take class here every week and love the instructors here and the vibe
I've been taking Lyra classes here and am enjoying the community of students and the instructors. The classes "fly" by so fast (pun intended)! They make students of all levels welcome. The facility is clean and spacious with small group classes for personalized attention.
Awesome place with really helpful & interesting people.
The Ariel yoga class was amazing for strength & flexibility.
Ima definitely go back soon.
5 stars for instructor, Monica. 2 stars is generous for the space. As soon as you walk in the door, the smell of sweaty feet hits you in the face. The mats reek like rubber and then your clothes and hands will too. This place needs a thorough cleaning-dust bunnies everywhere. Although the pizza the reception people were eating during the class helped me breathe a bit deeper, but it was a total distraction during an aerial class. Won’t be going back.
I took my first Lyra class last Monday at 7: 30pm.
The instructor, "J" needs further training.
He knew that it was my first lesson and did not check to see that my sacrum was on the Lyra.
I knew it wasn't in the right place because it was hurting like hell.
I asked him and he said yes, that I was, I couldn't even get up from the upside down position, because my waist was on the Lyra and it was horribly painful. The instructor, knowing that it was my first class would not help.
It is almost a week later and my back at the level of the waist is still painful
Wow — I can’t say enough good things about this place! Prior to discovering Om Factory I hadn’t done any circus or aerial activities since a childhood camp and I wish I discovered this place sooner! The staff are incredibly friendly and encouraging when it comes to trying new moves and skills. The starter pack was a great introductory deal to try out four classes and I can’t wait to purchase a ten pack. The beginner bungee with Barbara is a blast! I’m a huge fan of the various jumps we learned and especially orbiting and hanging upside down! Beginner Aerial Yoga with Marisa is such a neat experience too! The hammock allows for you to do so many awesome yoga moves and variations. All-in-all I recommend everyone try Om Factory!
My daughter had her 10th birthday here with a bunch of her friends. It was an hour long class led by Izzy and it couldn't have been more fun for the kids. Izzy was amazing and the space and equipment was great. The kids left literally beaming and asking when they could go back. I highly recommend.
I’ve been to a few beginner classes at different studios and was looking for a studio closer to home however the instructor wasn't as patient as she should’ve been. Numerous students were lost but she didn’t feel the need to go over certain tricks. Very disappointed will not revisit
My private with Fran Sperling was great! She is a great instructor, always paying attention to details of technique while also pushing me forward to new achievements. I highly recommend her!
OM Factory space is spacious and clean, a good place to work out.
Sucha fun new hobby idea that’s also great mentally and physically! They have intro 4 passes which are a great starter pack to try because it can take time to get used to the hammock. Really appreciated their flexibility when I wasn’t feeling well and had to reschedule last minute. Thanks, team I’m factory!? ️️
A nice Aerial Yoga Studio in New York. The studio is spacious, clean and they offer many fun things beside Aerial Yoga. I joined the Aerial Yoga Teacher training too and learn a lot from the instructors at OM Factory. They're amazing, enthusiastic, experienced and very patient.
Thank you Om Factory for everything that you do to keep NYC safe! If you are looking for a safe and fun experience (that follows Covid precautions!) this is the place for you. All of the teachers care for your health and wellbeing as a student and as a person! The best studio in NYC <3
Amazing teachers, fun classes and super clean silks. They are also very COVID conscious and enforce CDC guidelines!
This is a great gym! They offer excellent classes in a clean environment with helpful and patient instructors.
I've been to this location two times.
1- Aerial yoga (amazing experience awhile back!)
2- Lyra (yesterday)
I was harassed by two other students in the class due to me not being vaccinated. The instructor allowed it and instead of descalating the situation she, added more fuel to the fire. Turns out these other two students are regulars here.
I wore a mask, and the instructor still insisted to ask (only me) if I was vaccinated. I asked my friend who was there before me if she was asked and said "NO". These two disrupted the class three times, they were even on the other side of the room. There are no signs up or does OM Factory ask for proof, at least until Sept. 1st. Why was I singled out?
Whenever the other two students decided to interrupt, the instructor would explain why people are getting vaccinated, if people want to perform on stage you need to be vaccinated, explaining her version of "The Law", asking me where do I love and even asked me why I'm not vaccinated if it medical or just bc. That's absolutely no one's concern especially, when you have students disrupting and harassing me. I also didn't no I signed up for LYRA- PEER PRESSURE (COVID EDITION)
One of the students above that kept harassing me even stated "My pregnant sister has COVID atm, but she's vaccinated ". We should be concerned for our health then, she putting us at risk after being around her (positively tested sister). If all this wasn't enough at the end I was in the with my friend, we're putting on our shoes to leave. Same student starts bring up me not being vaccinated and to put my mask on, im sorry when was drinking water a crime. Om factory, your instructor allowed others to disrupt on and off throughout class (even with my mask on), and validated my HIPP rights. Your instructor had NO BUSINESS singling me out, I wasn't going to leave and give anyone the satisfaction bullying me out,
or losing out of $45.
