Horrendous, I switched to clifton park office and it got worse.make sure they clean their equipment. You can get EKC from dirty ocular equipment, run from this practice

Where to start? First, this place left me waiting in my car for hours for my appointment. It was during Covid, so I tried to be understanding of the situation, but when you are sitting in a car during the winter for hours with the car running, only to discover that the entire office left for the day without calling you in for your scheduled appointment (when they asked you to stay waiting in the car), well… a person does get a little frustrated! Next came the you-have-to-pay-us-270-dollars-even-though-it-was-our-staff-that-scheduled-you-too-soon-for-your-appt-for-insurance-to-cover-it. I get it. Ultimately, it is the patient’s responsibility to remember when, last year, they went for their annual refraction, however, when that patient is going to the same said practice for several other appointments that same year due to special eye conditions, it does leave that patient at a little bit of a disadvantage in trying to remember. And then to hear, “Yes, we made a mistake in doing this, but this is a person who no longer works here so we can’t go back and retrain her. ” Well, perhaps after admitting that, you might consider giving a patient partial credit, since you admit that the person was fired because they obviously weren’t doing their job correctly? Finally, the frosting on the cake was when one of the new doctors said that they would no longer prescribe contact lenses for me. No reason given. I paid the 270 dollars and left for good. Caveat emptor!

My experience with Ophthalmic Consultants of the Capital Region started about 6 weeks ago. Initially, they were friendly and professional. My condition (detached retina, inflamed) next required getting a second opinion at MERSI (in Waltham, MA), and then my surgery was scheduled for February 2, with David Rabady, M. D.

Unfortunately, I missed the surgery without calling first. The week of the surgery, these things happened to me: I got engaged, experienced a mental crisis, and my best friend died (all of these are verifiable). Still, I felt terrible about the inconvenience I'd caused; it wasn't until 6 days later that I began calling them to apologize, and to attempt to reschedule the surgery.

However, the only answer I ever received was a registered letter, which explained I'd been "discharged". It stated I'd actually missed THREE surgeries (not true), and basically berated me for being foolish and irresponsible. Nonetheless, I responded in writing: I apologized and asked if we could sort this out; I received no further response. Finally, this week I found another doctor to perform my surgery, and called back OCCR to simply put a note on my chart "never mind".

With negative reviews like, oftentimes it's actually the customer/patient who was the unreasonable party; however, hopefully I've explained this in a way that demonstrates credibility on my part. My issue isn't that I was discharged; whatever their policy is, I can accept that. What I don't accept is an attack on my integrity, which is based on incorrect information. But if I'm being unreasonable here, I'll be happy to revise this review.

Finally: I'd give 0 stars, but I'm giving 1 star because the staff were mostly friendly and professional.

Called and was on hold for over 20 minutes. Called back and was on hold for over 20 minutes. If I cannot even make an appointment how well is their care going to be? Called Brass Eye Center, took 3 minutes to get a same day appointment.

Disappointed with the wait times after arriving early for an appointment. The clinic seems over scheduled. Also, the walls do not block sound well. In an exam room I’m overhearing the doctor/patient conversation next door.

I had an appointment at 2pm- didn't see a tech until 2: 40 who was fine. He could have been a little more pleasant but he may have been new- at least he seemed a little scattered as to the flow of the evaluation process. More waiting then 5 minutes with the doctor. In the second waiting room, other patients were complaining of having been there for longer than I had. I ended up being there for two hours from check-in to check-out. I think it would benefit everyone- employee to customer- if they relived their schedules a bit. Older reviews say the same thing about wait times so its clearly a long standing issue that has yet to be resolved.

Worst experience ever long wait and its been an 1: 45mins just sitting here. If you have fidelis care insurance you kinda not welcome, they will let the people with better insurance go in first and you just waiting for whoever got a chance to see you not by your turn smh. If you can avoid this location dplease do so!

I never leave reviews but this was the worst doctors appointment I’ve ever had. Waited for almost 2 hours for my appointment along with many others. Felt a little sketchy because were still in a pandemic. And it was very crowded. The doctor was nice but I waited even longer and it was rushed. It was so busy they had me leave without any follow up and when I called back and asked about my prescription days later the receptionist hung up on me as I was asking if they had the right pharmacy for me. I went to my pharmacy and they never called it in. Feeling defeated, I think I’m done for awhile.

I have had two bad visits in Schenectady office first time 3hour wait because of-" emergency" no one informed all the patients about 20 in waiting room. The next time the associates taunted me as I walked in door because I didn't have a mask on I felt like I was attacked I had a mask to put on but the taunting continued
i did write

Update: I was skeptical but I called them again. They did find an appointment for me. Unfortunately I could not make it. I am thankful they were able to find an appointment.

I tried to make an emergency appointment. I was put on hold and someone answered. I was talking to her and she put me on hold again. While I was waiting, I hear someone else pick up the call and say how can I help. By the time I realized it.it was too late he hung up on me. I felt very uneasy to call back because I am not sure how their service would be. I understand I am just 1 in 1000 for them but when someone is calling in for an emergency. Wish they were more patient and not put people on hold and disconnect without giving time to respond: (

Everyone I came in contact with was very caring, professional, and conscious of the possiblity of covid.
Dr Archibold explained everything thoroughly, even anticipating questions like "what if. ".
She gave me a sample of eye drops to try and what we would do if those didn't work.

They failed to tell me prior to my appointment that I would be having drops put into my eyes that causes me not to see up close. I have never had a eye appointment before so i did not know what would be done. I ended up not being able to attend school that day because i could not see which was a huge inconvenience because i had an exam that i had to take another time! Not to mention i had to call for someone to come and drive me home!

The staff were all very pleasant and Dr. Heather Deere listened to my concerns and issues and responded. This was a pleasant surprise.

All my clinicians were very friendly and organized. The doctor was friendly and knowledgable. My appointment took a little over an hour which was very acceptable considering that I was having an issue with one of my eyes.
