First post in 20 years of living in NYC. Truly brutal music volume and selection. Cocktails are fine.

Hip cocktail bar with inventive drinks! Perfect for a small group or date, as the bar is noisy enough to have privacy in conversation, but not too loud to make it hard to hear across the table.

This inviting, understated cocktail spot has been one of our favorites since we moved to NY a decade ago. They are serious (but not obnoxious) about cocktails. Choosing from their menu is an option, but I prefer to let the barkeep use their judgment and surprise me. The food menu is simple but very well-executed. Until I went there last month, I couldn't tell you the last time I had hummus and pita and thought, wow, this is truly delicious! The staff is very hard-working and professional. This is also our regular watering hole if we're trying to snag a dinner table in the neighborhood and the wait-list is several lifetimes long.

So, having visited Orient Express occasionally over the years, we decided to reach out to them when we needed a venue for my wife's milestone birthday party. They were very accommodating and gave us a great quote. The service (drinks, food, music, cake, photography) was fantastic - attentive without being overwrought. Our guests were enthusiastic about the cocktails and the vibe. A bull's eye!

Bathroom was gorgeous… always a good sign. Drinks were really delicious. Snacks were on point.

But the highlight undoubtedly was the staff. The server was incredible and the bar tenders were just perfect.

Attentive service and fantastic cocktails. Also delicious hummus and mixed appetizer platter. Will be back!

Pricey but cozy and very good cocktails. A bit snug, dont sit at the table by the back door, you'll get bumped into mostly the whole time. Nice and attentive staff.

HORRIBLE experience. Made a reservation for 6 for my partner's birthday and told friends that live nearby to meet us for a drink there as well. The bartender refused to serve us because more than six people showed up - the place was completely empty. Will NEVER go there again. I live in the neighborhood and could not believe how despicable the treatment was. Pretty place with no substance. They don't know how to run a business. Good luck.

We were at the Orient Express with a group of people to celebrate our Brit friend's birthday last weekend. We had high expectations, we really wanted to like the place, but it turned out such a horrible experience. The bartender was rude and very unprofessional. He never wanted to take our orders even though we were sitting right next to the bar in store front. He kept telling us "I'll take your orders after I'm done for other people's order. " But there were only a few people sat inside, and a few outdoor. He also kept blaming us that we were bigger group than originally made reservation for 6, and complaining. Why he didn't want any customers? Why did he refused to take our orders? We have no idea. We left the place less than 1 hour, after having such a horrible experience there. I waited for 20 min, others waited more than 40 min to get to this point. Only 5 of 12 people got drinks. Never again. DO NOT GO! THEY NEVER WELCOME YOU!

Cozy west Village cocktail bar. Nice spot to start or end a date night. Loved that the bartenders can stray from the menu and mix cocktails to your taste. The staff is friendly and the prices are fair. Will definitely be back.

Our group had the best time. We went on a Friday. OE was busy but the service was fantastic. There was no wait for drinks at all. The staff was kind and responsive. They created drinks based on our taste. Drinks on and off the menu were equally fantastic. We'll be back!
