Orleans Community Health Medina Memorial Hospital

I had gone to the ER twice within the last 2 days because I couldn’t stop throwing up and I couldn’t keep anything Down. The first time I went everything was fine I was surprised they didn’t make sure I could hold down food or anything before I left and they never proscribed me with anything but the instructed me to come back if my symptoms got worse so I went back the next morning at 430 am and my experience was terrible. The first nurse I saw was so rude saying I’m always coming in for the same reason when I’ve never seen her before and before this I haven’t been to the hospital in quite a while. I told her this is my 2nd time coming in because you guys told me to come back if my symptoms got worse the whole time I got treated like I was over reacting. They never gave me fluids they gave me a shot and finally prescribing me with something for nausea they sent me home. I will probably never go back now I felt hopeless I hate going to the hospital for anything and I don’t complain much but when I do I know something’s going on and they did not take it seriously!

I recently visited the ER with my 2 year old, who is very scared of doctors, for a bad ear infection. He was crying in pain. Our experience was AMAZING. We were in and out in 30 minutes. The nurses and PA were so great in making it a positive experience for my son. It was obvious they all had experience with young children. Everyone we encountered went above and beyond. Medina is fortunate to have such a great ER.

Thursday I found myself in the ER with my daughter and my 2 year old grandson. The experience was seamless thanks to the excellent staff at Orleans Community Health. After admissions he was called back and they asked me to wait. Knowing a grandma worries, listening to his cries, the nurse came out to say as soon as they had a larger room she'd come get me. A few minutes later she came out because he was asking for me for me and told me to just come in. The Dr who saw him was so caring and calm, telling him everything he was going to do and not pushing to do more than needed. Everyone was fast, efficient and so very empathetic. Thank you for making Christian's visit a positive one. Medina is so lucky to have our ER when needed.

I had a great experience at MMH! Went in to get some stitches on a Sunday night and was in and out in under 45 minutes. All the staff and doctor (minus he was a Patriots fan when they played the bills that day) did a great job!

I went to the Medina ER in August 2023 while at my camper “home” for an untreated bladder infection that turned into a full blown kidney infection. They got me in almost immediately and sent me home again within 4 hours with quick access to my meds at the closest pharmacy. It was all really scary and painful for me, and they treated me SO well and with so much care.

Medina Memorial Hospital offers convenience in our rural area. I always get my lab work done there, so I don't need to leave the area for something that only takes a couple minutes. In addition to the lab, there is a radiology department, cardiology, wound care, sub-acute rehab, and several other services.

Took my son in to ER for a hurt hand from football practice. Ended up being broken. He had no emotion and had empathy towards my 15 year old son, as he learned his football season was over already, my son was devastated! The ER DOCTOR pressed on the broken part of his hand saying he needed to fit the temp cast.and then argued with me about why my son was crying.my son can take pain and that doctor made it worse! But he wasn't crying over the pain, he loves playing and his season was over.so sad and devastating and that doctor will make me NEVER GO BACK THERE AGAIN. My son NEVER wants to go back there either! SMH

The emergency room should be closed down. If you have a death wish it may be a good place to go otherwise avoid Medina Hospital ER and go to Buffalo.

If I could I'd give it lest thin one star the care is horrible. Un hucked my father's heart and O2 monitor because it was beeping to much his oh was 82 a normal human should be in the high 90 to 100 they sold him that having blocks in his heart isnt a true heart issue the woman who took care of my father was so rude treated him like he was a rat. I bet she would treat a rat better. Where is the good doctor who care about the health of the people who come in more then the money. Doctors and nurses like these ones are the reason why good doctors and nurses have bad names. The one start is for the sweet lady who was at the front. She got super worried seeing him and tried to beg him nicely to sit in a wheelchair before he got hurt. Thank you ma'am for worrying about my father

Update: after the review was posted my pharmacist did get clarification and was able to fill the meds, a smaller dosage and exactly one days’ worth, rather than my actual dr’s 5 day prescription.

During my visit I received friendly and professional care. I was seen with a back injury, rated moderate by the service that reads the ct scan. MRI unavailable. By the time I was released the pharmacy I use was closed. I spent the WHOLE next day playing phone tag as one of my prescriptions wasn’t written correctly-written without a maximum daily dosage. The provider/team on that day said they’d call and correct it, though they never did. By that evening they said they wouldn’t be able to help, and recommended I go to an urgent care. What’s the point in going to er if they can’t treat you correctly and you have to go to a second facility anyways?

By the next morning, the provider on that day said he’d correct the prescription but that the pharmacist would have to call him. The pharmacy has tried repeatedly-cannot get through and doesn’t receive a call back.

To be clear, 12 hours after being seen was the first time I knew they’d made an error, I called repeatedly and was lied to then denied. So I’m miserable, with a legitimate injury and being denied my meds and treated so unfairly.

My family is new to the area, and so disheartened by this experience we are worried to ever give Orleans Community Health system another chance. Seems like they’re honestly just trying to gouge me for another visit’s cost, with no honest regard for my health.

I am so thankful to have a local hospital in our town. Medina Memorial has so many talented and dedicated healthcare professionals. Every hospital employee I have been in contact with in the last few years has shown their dedication, knowledge and commitment to their patients. The cardiac dept/Echocardiogram technician was a breeze to work with. I hope we always have MMH in our town!

echocardiogram and X-ray. Very efficient and friendly staff. Highly recommend for health services.

The skill level of all the nurses and specialists is amazing. Extremely friendly staff with a welcoming and caring attitude! I wish I had known about all the services they provide before going to big hospitals and waiting forever.

Great place to receive basic services such as lab tests, x-ray, mammograms, CT, MRI and other outpatient procedures. They have a great ER, fast reliable service and their surgery unit is fantastic. Staff is all friendly and caring. Just a great small community hospital offering care close to home in amazing Medina, NY.

Great staff. The front desk screener, Anne, is an asset to the facility as the first person the customers see.

My husband had a 9-day stay a few months ago on PCU 2. The nurses were amazing and so was the Dr. He received amazing care from everyone involved and it was so convenient to be able to easily visit daily being right here, close to home.

Was treated so good in the emergency department! I love the community spirit that resides within.

The worst place to seek any real help with medical issues. I’ve gone in twice already, and both times they said I was ‘fine’ - they only did a single blood test, and released me from the ER after only four hours. Then, when they refilled my meds, they gave me an unnecessary higher dose that caused me to get even more sick. I did go back to hopefully fix this, but this time they only kept me for three hours and I was told that I basically need to talk to my Primary about what’s going on - I was basically told to just go home because there was apparently nothing they could do to help me. They were also unable to get me a ride home, so I had to walk in the cold that night.

Basically, don’t go to this place if you have any real issues going on. They will most likely do very minimal to help, and then just send you home within a couple hours.

6 year old went in with rashes on skin and instead of trying to help him the entire nursing staff stared at him with digusting looks and saying he couldnt act like a kid in the hospital. Do not reccomend going to medina GO SOMEWHERE ELSE.
