Orthopedic Associates of Dutchess County, Poughkeepsie NY

As a former employee of the surgery center there, this is the only place of employment that ive ever had to quit due to racial discrimination, being reprimanded for my work due to personal issues that have nothing to do with the other, no staff - management confidentiality, and condescending attitudes from management/administration. Since leaving i have had lies told on me about my work ethic and my actions on the job to make it seem as though i was the problem and not the shady childish unprofessional actions of the people that are getting paid to run this facility in a respectful professional manner but DONT! I was an employee there for almost 6 yrs and left due to people who have been there for much shorter. Its clearly an issue there.

I took my wife here today to get her knee looked at! She was in a ton of pain and could barely walk. We tried to call to talk to someone but it was impossible to reach an actual person over the phone! The message told us to leave a voicemail but no one called us back.

We showed up to OrthoExpress and was able to see a doctor and get an x-ray. The doctor she had, maybe spoke to her for 10 minutes and didn’t seem to care about her injury! He told her what he “thought” was wrong and told her that he was going to prescribe her some meds!

So we checked out, and made sure at check out that the doctor actually called in her meds. We arrive to pick them up at the pharmacy and nothing! We tried to call back to OrthoExpress to let them know the meds weren’t there. When we did get thru to someone, they said they checked her charts and that nothing was prescribed to her.

Total waste of time and terrible communication! Avoid if you are able too!

I have spent many days trying to cancel an appointment I made online. Not only can't I cancel online, but I cannot cancel by telephone either! You cannot call and speak with a live person. They do not recognize my date of birth and last name, so they end the call repeatedly. I will not show up for my appointment. There is not even an available email address so that I can notify the office. This is the worst customer service I have ever experienced! I would rate the service a zero if it would accept it!

Getting an appointment is torture and then when you do finally get one they take over an hour to come into the room to see you.they aren’t very friendly either and are in a hurry to get you to leave.

This is the worst place I’ve ever been to. They Never have a appointment until 2 months, Bill you a co- pay even though you payed. Wait in a small room 45 min to see the Doctor. I needed a procedure done, I waited 1 month for orthopedic associates to call my insurance for a authorization. Don’t expect to talk to someone in the doc office, Always a answering machine. Saw 3 different doctors to end up with the original Doctor. Finally last but least Doctor told me someone will call me to set up a appt in Six months, that was almost 3 months ago, no call. Trust me not the BEST place.

Apparently they don't allow you to be seen at the Walk-in clinic if you don't have workers comp information with you or access to it. Don't waste your time going here, go to a actual hospital.

If possible, I would give it a 0. Walk in to the OrthoExpress in Poughkeepsie and two people at the front desk are sitting there talking about another patient (very unprofessional). They didn’t bother to acknowledge I even walked through the door until I went up to them because the kiosk didn’t work. They proceed to tell me they aren’t accepting anyone else today even though I was clearly there before the time they stop taking walk-ins, which I only had to do because they take forever to find an appt for you so the person on the phone said I could walk in. The two woman Kerri and Jessica continue to be rude not trying accommodate what so ever and question why I didn’t come in earlier in the day. Many people work during the day and even have to leave early to just make it in time for the basic hours. Truly a terrible experience and would never recommend them or try to go there ever again.

DO NOT GO HERE. Rushed and inadequate care. Very little support, poor communication, and was given a return to work order while other physicians claimed I would need 6+ months of recovery.

Background-
My mom fell and went to the ER- X-ray indicated she has broken ribs, wrist, and clavicle. She was asked to see an orthopedic surgeon to see if she needed surgery

We arrived at orthopedic associates at 9: 36am, my mom is in severe pain, imagine waiting around to be seen with broken bones…

It’s 12: 15 pm now and we are told she won’t be seen until after 1pm…

They should hire more staff if the can’t handle everyone.

They are ok but prepare to wait for awhile. Also good luck with parking it's usually packed and full of illegally parked cars

Completely incompetent service. Booked an appointment online, entered insurance information and never received a confirmation. Called to follow up and they had no record so I gave them all my information again. They put me in hold for 15 minutes and then someone picked up and asked how they could help me. This new person had no record of my previous interaction. I hope their medical care is better than their patient services but I guess I'll never know.

UPDATE: on third try finally got a competent CSR and got an appointment so we shall see. Upping to 2 stars for now.

I am very disappointed with this group. I have been in pain for 2 months with a meniscus tear. Now i hear grinding on the knee. First my insurance had not received the proper information for clearance. I thought it was a delayed from the insurance but it was from this office that had not sent any request. Second a few weeks before the surgery i called the insurance company they never received the proper info. I called this practice letting them know that the insurance had never received anything from them. Very frustrating! It took a few days for me to received the clearance call to schedule a date. Meanwhile I'm in so much pain. A week or 2 before surgery i was told that they have to cancel my surgery bc the surgery center only accept patience with a certain BMI. They should have known that before scheduling, now no surgery. I can't believe that they can't schedule it at the hospital now I am still waiting. Both of my knees are being affected.

Dr Rhakala had an accident so now my procedure is canceled. More pain. I don't have any other place to go that takes my insurance. I don't know what to do. I'm on a leave with bills to pain.
I wish they had real people answering calls than answering machines. So disappointed!

All the other reviews are correct. This place is garbage. Avoid at all costs. Vishal Rekhala doesn't care about his patients. The surgical scheduling team is impossible to get a hold of unless you show up in person. You can leave the office a call. Good luck getting back to you. It all seems like malpractice. This place is nothing but fits. Years ago I would have recommended it. Now I wouldn't wish this experience on anyone.

I live halfway across the country and have never used them BUT they called me and left patient information on my voicemail for someone I have never heard of including sensitive information! Major HIPAA violation!

Their scheduling system is completely messed up. Today I was directed to an office in East Fishkill, very far from the right location in Hopewell Junction. They’ve made this mistake so many times that the orthopedic office in East Fishkill has a pre-printed slip with the correct phone number and address. Thank goodness I was able to get my taxi to pick me up. I’m rescheduled for later today in Hopewell Junction. As far as medical care goes, I’m very positive. Whoever is responsible for office management should be taken to the woodshed!

Waited on hold twice for 30 minutes only to have someone pick up and hang up immediately. Went here for neck pain and they did an X ray but didn’t order an MRI. Sent me home in pain. High volume, incompetent service

This was a horrible experience. They do not care about children. They only care about money. As a single mom, do not bring your kids to this practice.
