American Restaurant Overlook reviews
16The burgers, wings and fries are good but the service has gone downhill. We work near by and used to stop for lunch frequently. The bartender was very rude and made us feel very uncomfortable, even though the place was empty. Wonder if race had anything to do with it.
Without a doubt, Overlook serves the best buffalo wings in New York City. I'd put them against anything. In my experience, they are a close second only to Duff's Famous Wings. But, unless you plan to travel to one of the original meccas in Buffalo for wings on a regular basis, Overlook is THE spot for wings in our city.

Not a Bears fan but definitely a sports fan. Watched a game with a Bears buddy and it was truly an amazing experience. Cold beer and great service.
I got to Overlook starving on a Tuesday's night at 10pm. I thought it was my last chance to grab a bite and these guys really went above and beyond. I ordered the cheese burger with blue cheese and fried egg and it was absolutely amazing. I dare to say it was one of the best burgers I ever had. Congrats! Great place!
A mainstay in midtown Manhattan. Food is great, especially their burgers. Cheers like atmosphere!
They charged my friend $15 for a mocktail that did not have alcohol in it. They claimed they charge the same for drinks whether they have alcohol in them or not, and that they also upcharged her to meet the $25 per person minimum required to play trivia, which also doesn't seem right or fair. The waiter was also rude to me, made fun of my order, and wouldn't let me order what I actually wanted and convinced me to get something else instead. Would not recommend this place.
I didn't think I would ever find a bar in midtown with as good deals as this place. It's like one of the bars from back upstate almost. To be clear, absolutely nothing fancy about the spot, but good service and cold beer w/ truly excellent happy hour deals.one of my new regular spots
Food is inedible. I will not be returning. Some of the staff is nice but the owner is so rude it ruins the whole experience.
It’s just overpriced food - nothing special about this place. I played trivia here, but not worth the money.
The food by Larry is amazing he's the best cook. His energy towards everyone is super. This place has spunk, great vibes and an amazing atmosphere. Definitely recommend for a casual or party occasion! You guys rock! #Go bears
Lots ok fun and a great environment (nice TV's). Bartenders Danny and Danielle were awesome and so was the whole crew there. Go and see them and be good.
First impressions are everything. Great drinks, music, fun owner. Officially my go to joint in midtown and good dollar pizza up the street.
I am giving this a 3 because the staff was nice and polite. The owner checked vaccination cards upon entry. However, the food was not good.
1. Wings: We ordered half jerk style and half barbecue wings. Well the wings were basically cooked (without seasoning) and barbecue sauce (not the best either) thrown on top. The half jerk wings were the same with a certain dry season sprinkled on top.
2. Straw: We asked for a straw. As the server was brining the straw, the straw dropped on the floor twice. Although the straw was wrapped, he simply picked up the straw each time that it fell and handed it over to us. We didn’t use the straw and asked another server for a new straw.
3. Turkey Burger: The menu says the best in NYC. I beg to differ. It’s a basic handmade turkey burger.
4.mouse: after we finished eating and allowing the food to digest. We saw a small mouse roaming the dining room floor. The restaurant is dark with a little bit of light so this made the mouse feel at home. Honestly, the mouse was right at home. Fortunately, the owner saw the mouse and tried to kill the mouse and asked the staff to place mouse traps in the dining room. But, this seemed like a common affair.
Very nice establishment. Not only was the owner very nice and friendly, the food was really good. They had a live DJ the night I went and he did a great job too.
Great location for after-work informal food and drinks. The upstairs function area has its own bar and bathroom. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Food was tasty and the drinks were good. Thankyou!
This place is straight trash. As I was leaving, the bartender was throwing things across the bar at me because they did not like what jersey I was wearing. Other patrons joined in as well. Showing team spirit and being light hearted is one thing and totally fun. However, being rude and violent is absolutely unacceptable. This sent a message to others in the bar that if the bartender is assaulting people, it's acceptable for others do this as well. There is no excuse for this.
