Papaya Dog, New York NY

Enjoyed a black bean burger and some cheese fries here on a drunken night out. Not overly greasy and many different options!

I got a basic hot dog & a papaya shake & was satisfied with neither, the hot dog sausage was thin & tough & the papaya juice was overly sweet & did not taste like papaya.

Not sure what the big fuss was about these hotdogs but the papaya juice was good. Not a great atmosphere either.

Their Philly cheesesteak tastes like absolutely nothing and they don’t use American cheese like they say. It does not taste like a real Philly cheesesteak, just tastes flavorless.

They also misrepresented their prices. They showed $8 for a pint of ice cream then charged $10.19. No explanation why.

Be careful coming here they like over charging you and then not even giving you a receipt to claim it went their a got over charged for a two hotdog and drink special. I would be reporting this to the bbb second time this happened already and I have proof….

We were told that the best hot dog, and it's true, is the fact that for low money, a simple hot dog can be with cucumbers or onions

I came to this place really late that night. It was like 2 AM. There were some people ordering and then there was two gay guys walking in and the staff told them that it’s closed and when the gay guy said other people are ordering nowhere close you have to leave then the guy said something back to the staff and then he went outside and he beat them up and they left from making everybody’s food to go outside and fight and argue. This place is terrible. They are racist. I ordered food and I ask where can I eat? It started yelling said outside. Everything was the carpets a radical to 72nd St.to papyrus food is 100 times better plus what I seen what they did to the little people that was just trying to get food just because they’re gay didn’t want to serve them. Pure garbage and the men in the front always are looking at a young girls walking in they are 50-year-old man.

Wayyyyy too over price one year ago hotdog was 1.50$ now it’s 3.49$ for one small hotdog? Everytime i do in they’re raising the prices up it’s crazy

It used to be cheap but its kinda over priced now if you ask me. The papaya drink is pretty foamy, doesn’t taste like papaya.

It’s edible but your body will punish you for eating this stuff if you do it often.

Everyone needs a hotdog sometimes though

Best mozarella sticks in town i swear.they always make em fresh and the smoothies are not to mess w.i actually really like the piña colada but the mango is more popular.theyre super fast and affordable.so delicious and central location makes it an easy reach.its also 24hrs so its definitely a life saver.edit (july 12th 2023)
horrible.it was all so terrible and now the seating is outside so the homeless can bother you and harrass you.they put an ice cream counter inside an already tight corner.i had to double check before writing this.its so sad to see a fav location die like this.

Small coke for $3.27?
Either their price is unreasonably too high or the guy ripped my friend and was being very rude about it when asked about the price.
He even shouted at my friend for taking too long ordering, while there wasn't anyone behind us that kept them on a rush.
BUT when couple white girls came in, they didn't mind them taking double time ordering. This place is a joke.

It's a hotdog, that you eat on the street. It's meant purely for sustenance, not to wow you with technique or ingredients.

Idk why but I love this place.it has this sort of food-stand-at-the-summer-carnival vibe. The pink drink is amazing, although I'm not sure what's in it. (I guess.papaya?) Anyway I have never been so excited about hot dogs for dinner.

My munchie cravings always got me here before heading back home! Chilli cheese dogs are really good! But it's the mustard n onions for me! They ain't those dirty water dogs off the street either.sorry always forget to take a pic when I'm here cuz I'm too busy eating it.oh yea.the fries are rockin too
