African Restaurant Papaye reviews
17The food was delicious. They dont have a menu or signs on the food so you have to ask about everything. My bill was higher than expected and no itemized receipt
The service is slow and they do not give you your money's worth when it comes to food
This has to be one the best restaurants in the BX to get authentic African/Ghanaian food. They have 2 locations and both have a delicious menu to choose from. The food is freshly prepared, the workers are friendly and generous with the portion sizes. I have been going to both locations for about 10 yrs now and have recommended them to everyone who is looking to try something new. My favorite is the peanut butter soup with Turkey and rice balls but trust me the whole menu is worth trying.
If you are in NY want a taste of African and Caribbean cuisine, this is the right place to be. The rich and authentic taste of the food here makes it clear that all the ingredients used are sourced from the best place. I recommend this place!
Employer insult me and brother and sister am from burkina and living ghana 1year the didting no I undestand ashanti
Very stupid ppl… there. Service still sucks. They charge me $14 without no spaghetti and two piece of meat never again will I come to this location…TRASH
The soups are good here but sometimes the service sucks- it’s extremely slow, sometimes the people serving the food are rude. They just finished raising the price of the fufu with soup to $20… this is a pic of what I got and that is after telling the woman to add more as I was paying $20 for this soup with 3 small pieces of turkey. I used to like coming here but I will think twice of continuing to come
The customer service is horrible, Very rude. I called to try and place order and the man who answered said he doesn’t have time and slammed the phone. I think sometimes people forget it’s not about where you come from but where you are. Respect the community in which you run your business!
This place really needs to closedown. The jallof rice was the worst I have ever eaten. If you buy cow feet or skin, you needs a teeth as strong as a viper to eat them. I'm surprised the health dept hasn't shutdown this place. Several city health violations in the past
Food is great. Be sure to like spicy stuff else you’d be in for a hot sensation in your mouth and belly.
Good African food. Service very slow because of lack of staff. Then one have to queue up for a long time before beeing served
I would advise anyone to search up how much what they’re getting is on their website first before going in in person to order. They really charge me $26 for something that they charge $17 for. Also, the attitude there was really bad.
The prob size is huge, the food is well seasoned and very delicious. Very much recommends this establishment
Indigenous West African and Carribean cuisine served either to dine inside the restaurant or take out. Parking is limited.
Great restaurant love there food. Always a spot for me to go eat. Love there jollof rice would definitely recommend it for all
