The hotel is located in the very heart of Manhattan, on Times square. An ancient building with history and special architecture. Number for 3. The design is incomprehensible, especially the bathroom. But the room is clean, cleaning every day, changing towels and bed linen. There is no refrigerator in the room. Because The hotel is located in a "party" place, so it is difficult to sleep here at night. We should go hang out too.

I stayed at this 4-star rated Hotel from 21/09 to 27/09.
Granted that as an Owner and Director of a Hotel and Restaurant I have never written a review, but for this Hotel I am compelled to write one.
The only good thing is the location, very central. Convenient to get around downtown on foot or by subway.
Negatives:
Non-existent breakfast service.
The room and bathroom are small, not very clean, absent mini bar, TV without a European channel, dilapidated and non-soundproof fixtures with water infiltration, dirty and smelly floor carpet, authentic guillotine access doors to rooms. Inoperable safe, non-existent luggage rest bench. Around the entrance lamp there was water seepage from the upstairs room and rubble was constantly falling.
Twice during my stay I had to ask for towels to be given to me because they had not been put in.
Extremely rude, rude and incompetent staff, it is unthinkable that in a 4-star hotel the Reception staff speaks only one language. Concierge, like a statuette was unable to give information and solve the difficulties encountered for tickets and reservations for museums and shows.
The Manager, a woman (can't be called Lady), the rudest.
Unfortunately, a friend of mine had the misfortune to fall and break his leg and, given his age, 80 years old, he had difficulty using crutches. It was not possible to find a wheelchair so that he could get out of the room (so small that you could not turn around in it) and stay in the Hall (there was not even a bar) nor did they make any effort to find it and even inform us of a possible cost, but it could be transported with the luggage cart, offered to us by the porter the night when we returned from the hospital. The next morning we requested it from the porter on duty who also courteously helped us carry our friend to the lobby. Shortly thereafter the " Manager" showed up who railed, in English (she spoke only that language, Manager!) against my friend because according to her to walk he had to make do with crutches as using the trolley was against safety regulations. Safety? From what we saw, the woman manager does not know education and the most basic safety rules. There are outside electrical wires in the rooms, there is no emergency exit, signs for any emergency exits, etcc.
The truth is that the "woman manager" probably wanted to be paid for such service but did not know how to ask for it. In that situation it would have been shameful.
In an Italian facility when what happened to my friend happened to a forestier we make ourselves available and try to solve any problem at no cost, they did not even call the ambulance for us to be able to go to the hospital. As for the stars in Italy a facility like this could be rated 1 or 2 stars always assuming that permits are issued to be able to open. Therefore, NOT RECOMMENDED.
Dear Manager, I invite you not to write any response, it would be the same as what I have already read in most of the negative reviews that have preceded mine. Do not waste your time, devote it perhaps to studying another language.
Regards
Marino

Nice hotel.great service.close to center.
I wish the construction noise next door didn't start so early (7 am) and the room Ac can work lower then 74 degrees.

Jail is more luxurious than this hotel. This place is a disgusting and would stay far away from it. The pictures posted online are fake and far from what you get…. You can sleep better on the streets of NY!

I loved The Paramount.

I stayed here exclusively when in New York on business, etc. So it pains me to say that I will never stay here again.

Construction/excavation right across the street woke us at 7a Fri morning. We asked to change rooms to the other side of the hotel and were told flatly that there was nothing available but not to worry! There's no construction on the weekend. BUT bright and early on Sat morning.you guessed it! BAM-bam-bam-bam-bam! We ran into other refugees at the excellent Irish pub across the street who were trying to get loaded just so they could go back to sleep.

The Paramount bar, which used to look out onto foot traffic along 46th, has been relegated to a shabby, blue-gray space in the back. I now dub it the dreariest bar in Manhattan.

No water bottles or even paper cups are provided in the rooms. Humans require water to live, last time I checked, especially if you need to take prescription medicine. So be prepared to lap water out of your hands over the sink like a dog.for $450/night.

One of the rooms on our floor (11th) had clearly been forced open and then padlocked. Crime scene, anyone? Seriously, this is a safety/security concern, right?

The location of this hotel is excellent if you're doing the Times Square, Broadway theater thing. We loved O'Caseys Irish pub across the street and breakfast and brunch at Bond 45 just a few steps down the street toward Times Square, but based on this most recent visit I'd look for something else if I were you. Sad.

The location is awesome. The only fault I can find is the inefficient elevators. Man they're slow!

The room was clean. That's all of the good.
Front desk
confusing, slowful, and show no concern for guest needs. I arrived at 9am I did not expect a room the agent told me to check back at 1 they then told me to come back at 3or 4 so we went to dinner was checked if finally after 4. The check-in was not smooth at all the agent was not prepared. I went through priceline and after 15 min he figured out how to use the virtual card.

Room Condition

Very disappointing, no wash or hand towels. There is no furniture to put clothing away only a small desk. No cups, no ice bucket. The window had an air conditioner in it so the noise from the outside was terrible. Again, the only good thing about the room was that it was clean. 4* price for a motel standard.

I score two stars for the location and the service provided by its workers (special mention to the receptionist who speaks Spanish and the cleaners). Expensive hotel for what it offers, the noise of the air conditioning is very annoying, if someone takes a shower in a nearby room you can hear a lot as if they were taking a shower in your room and I don't see it as a good idea that they don't warn you about the works they have going on right in front of you.the building in front, three excavator machines from 7 in the morning, we only use it to sleep and shower but if one day you don't want to or have to get up early, due to the works you will have to because the noise is unbearable, otherwise Because of the noise, I would have rated it 4 stars (not 5 because of the excessive price).

It's very expensive for how little it delivers, it doesn't have breakfast, it's dark, the air conditioning makes a brutal noise like a garbage truck, it doesn't let you sleep because of the noise it makes. I don't recommend it at all

SCAM ALERT!

No matter what you paid or thought you were going to pay, this hotel will add an extra $50 charge upon arrival when you have little to no chance to change your plans.

Will never stay here again— better off to pay $50-200 more for a GOOD hotel that doesn’t treat its customers like a cornered viel calf.

Room is ordinary and location stinks (literally)

You’ve been warned.

The ambiance of luxe that your greeted with in the main lobby DOES NOT carryover into the rooms. All the outlets in the room were loose so I had to charge my devices in the bathroom. The bathroom was tight because the fixtures were huge, the toilet came out past the threshold of the door and the sink looked like an "upcycled" piece from a jail cell, the red and white tile was not cute. Also the windows fully open, but there's no screen or guard. I was in the 14th fl. The best thing about this place is the location.

The front desk staff was super nice and did their best to help. They were kind & courteous. Rooms were very clean.

BUT. Oh my gosh. I will never stay here again if I can help it. My first room had broken AC, ONE outlet in the whole room (plus one in the bathroom) which was nowhere near the (tiny, useless) desk, and was the smallest room I’ve seen outside a Pod Hotel. I know NYC hotel rooms are super small, but this was truly micro— nowhere to put a suitcase, even a small carry-on size except in a spot that would have blocked a second person from getting in & out of bed. And there aren’t any luggage stands either, so if you CAN find space to put it… it’s on the floor. Less able-bodied folks beware!

Okay, back to the broken AC: I called down about the AC at 2: 30pm. Dude came up, looked at it, said it was broken and the whole thing would need to be replaced. Said he could do it at 3: 30 when his colleague came in. I said great, told him I was cool with it happening while I was out for the afternoon & evening and left. Got back to my room at 9: 30p it was even hotter; clearly not fixed. Call down again. They send a new guy who confirms it’s broken (duh) and that he can’t fix it tonight (arg). So I try to call down again. No one answers. Try again. No one answers. I go down to the lobby, explain to the nice guy down there and they work to get me a new room. This one is bigger (huzzah!) and cold (HUZZAH!) and has more than one outlet (huzzah!) …. Aaannnnnd the only non-overhead light in the whole room doesn’t turn all the way off unless you unplug it. AND THEN it took another 90 minutes and more phone attempts, three more trips to the lobby, one stern call from the front desk manager to housekeeping) for me to STILL NOT get the mini fridge moved from my old room to my new one. I was too exhausted and angry to keep waiting, so I guess I’ll try again tomorrow?

And it’s so. Freaking. Loud. Car horns etc (to be expected; I know how NYC works) but also crazy dance music and shouting from outside and construction next door.

Only just got here and can’t wait to go home.

EDIT TO ADD: apparently the mini fridge appeared in my room while I was in the lobby on that last trip. And I was too exhausted to notice it. I feel like an idiot, but it will toook wayyyyyy too long.

Very small and very very noisy rooms, at the reception the staff was very unpleasant. I do not recommend it.

In the middle of my stay here now. The room is essentially no bigger than a large closet. AC works intermittently and the phone in the room doesn't work at all. Had to go downstairs to get someone to come to fix the phone but no one showed up anyway. No cups or glasses in the room for water so if you need to take an aspirin or Advil or if you're just thisty you'll have to go to the 4th floor. Also zero workspace. Plugs are even near the desk and half the time the plugs are so loose that the plug for my phone and computer would just fall out. We booked multiple rooms as we are a group traveling and I will highly recommend to my organization that we never stay here again.

The location and employees were wonderful. Room was small but that is expected in NYC. Room was very outdated and kind of gross. Only one end table for the bed for two of us and the plugs were so loose. Bathroom was incredibly tiny. For NYC and the money we paid to stay here, I was expecting better. I wouldn't recommend staying here and we will not be staying here again.
