Park Slope Academy of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Brooklyn NY

Just moved to park slope in June coming from a different gym all I can say is Great environment, great professors and great instruction. The teachers really take the time to make their demonstration and technique sink in and not rushed. The professors embrace questions during class demos and are not dismissive. I recommend this place to anyone looking to get better at Brazilian jiu jitsu.

I started my Jiu-Jitsu journey in late 2018, and PSA was recommended to me by a close friend who trained there. As soon as I took my first class I said to myself, “I’m going to be doing this for the rest of my life. ” PSA and its owners/professors Marc and Steve were welcoming and helpful from the start, and have continued to be, throughout my training. Jiu-Jitsu has been the most beneficial thing I have ever done in my life, and I am grateful to be part of such an excellent academy.

My son was in the Little Grapplers class. He's on the smaller side, and as a former practitioner myself, with numerous battle scars, I was initially worried for his safety. My fears were totally unfounded, as Marc and Steven have created an amazing environment-safe, generous, encouraging, and engaging. The creed the students recite at the end of the class are exactly the kind of values I try to instill in my son. We were sad to leave when we moved out of Brooklyn.

Absolutely love this place! Moved to Brooklyn in June 2022 with the intention to start my journey in BJJ. PSABJJ had by far the best honest reviews it seemed and after training for 5 months at this academy I can say that reviews are well deserved and yet still don’t do it justice. The environment and family that the professors have created is exactly what is needed and missing in many gyms today. I can’t thank them and recommend them enough!

Excellent staff, instructors, and atmosphere. A great hobbyist gym, and a constructive stepping stone for new competitors. Love these guys and would highly recommend.

Great place to train, for beginners this is a great place to get back into shape. And for those who have some experience this is a great skill set to learn.

This gym is awesome. It's beginner friendly, the coaches are knowledgeable and excellent teachers. There are kids classes too. Good workout, good community, good fun.

Over the last two years, Park Slope Academy of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu became something close to a second home for my siblings (boy of 11 and girl of 7). They've received excellent physical and emotional education through a whole-person approach to training. The focus has been not just on growing strength, but also respect, focus, attention, and organization. The training has always been fun, and both of my kids finish each session with a giant grin and an interesting story to tell.

This place is amazing! My daughter has been going here since she was 5 and we both LOVE it. The two professors are knowledgable and great with kids. They do an exceptional job of creating a welcoming atmosphere for all types of kids/adults. Having a daughter I particularly appreciate how geared towards women they are in a sport that has at times been male oriented. I have been consistently impressed at home much the students learn over their time here. The facility is clean, the price is affordable and you can tell Professor Adami & Professor Crocilla truly love BJJ. I tell all my parent friends, PSABJJ is where it’s at!

Two stars cos maybe the guy was having a bad day but LOL I have never been in a more transactional BJJ gym. Rip off.

Absolutely top notch BJJ academy. Both of the instructors are super knowledgeable, easy to talk to, and deeply care about all of the students. It's the perfect balance of education, drills, and the ability to roll and hone your skills in practice as well. I love this place and if you're in Brooklyn looking for a brazilian jiu-jitsu school or a place to train, don't pass this up!

I've only been in twice, but I signed up after my trial class. Steve, Marc, and the students were very kind and helpful. I also like that this academy emphasized that their teachings are for everyone, and whether your goal is to be a world champ or a skilled hobbyist — they'll get you there. Overall, everyone seems very supportive and cool. I'm really excited to continue my BJJ journey at this academy

This is the best bjj gym in Brooklyn. It is an amazing combination of professional values and expert teaching from some world class jiu jitsu black belts. I would recommend it to anyone who is interested.
