Pasteur Grill & Noodles reviews
15First time at this Vietnamese restaurant. Large menu. I had chicken in lemongrass sauce and it was good. My husband had beef on a bed of watercress salad and it was delicious! Would go back again!
This place is such a hidden gem in Chinatown. Tucked along a quieter side street, I found their beef cubes and salt and pepper shrimp so flavorful! The portions are huge and the outdoor seating was comfortable and heated. Mr. Chung (the owner) was so kind and served us the whole meal and made sure we enjoyed everything we ordered! Will absolutely come back here regularly.
Favorite Vietnamese spot on this block (I grew up in Chinatown and have been eating at these restaurants for over 25 years). What sets this restaurant apart is the consistently great service from staff, it's well lit, clean, and the food is always delicious. The grilled pork and beef cubes over rice are A+! Please continue to support local Chinatown businesses like Pasteur Grill & Noodles!
They have arguably the best pho in Chinatown - this was my go to hole-in-the-wall pho spot pre-Covid. It's a real shame they get overshadowed by larger restaurants with more outdoor seating. Give them a chance, pick up the spring rolls while you're at it.
A dish I always get from Pho places if I don't feel like having a regular Pho is the Bun bo hue. And this place had by far the best bun bo hue I've ever had! I don't know if it was because of corona and the broth just got boiled down like crazy or what but the broth was so flavorful!
Even my sister who was normally not a fan had to admit that it was really good.
Great food! Recently ordered to go the pork chops over rice and spring rolls. Very much enjoyed both but the spring rolls were a highlight!
My favorite Vietnamese spot in Chinatown. My personal favorites are the vermicelli noodles w.grilled pork/spring rolls and the beef cubes but everything here is great. Service is prompt and you can always expect delicious, fresh food.
Would definitely check this place out if you are in the area.
One of the best in Chinatown, get the beef cubes on rice and the summer rolls and a cold beer and sit outside and pretend there’s no pandemic
If I had to choose between the three Vietnamese restaurants on this block, I would pick this one again and again. All of the dishes I've had feature the juiciest, most flavorful cuts of meat and the freshest veggies! You can't go wrong with the beef cubes, pork chops, and the sandwiches- all of them mouthwatering, creatively put-together, and nicely packed! They are very clean compared to most other Vietnamese joints I've been to, and the staff is always very accommodating and attentive to your needs. My friends and I will be coming here again and again!
Currently eating here now. The flavors in my pho is so goood, I had to write a review. Stopped by on my way home. Very nice people and well priced!
This is one of my favorite places to go when I’m in the area. The prices are reasonable, and I can tell you that the food is worth it! Their customer service is always good along with the food. 10/10 would recommend.
Came here to visit from Kansas and was hungry for some Viet food. I have to tell that from a vietnamese standpoint I think their food is horrible and the price is outrageous. The rice was soggy and i will never eat at any other Vietnamese restaurant in NYC ever again. This is the second Vietnamese restaurant in NYC that I've tried and neither of them was worth it and non authentic. The banh mi was outrageously over price. In Vietnam if you eat banh mi then you are consider broke. How can they justify the price for a broke man's subs. Take it from a true Viet, all Vietnamese restaurant in NYC suck nuts
Was in the neighborhood and had to choose between 3 Vietnamese restaurants right next to each other. They all had 3.5 stars so ended up choosing Pasteur Grill and Noodles considering it was the least busy. Was a little hesitant in general for such a low rating, but once I stepped in, some of that hesitation faded away when I was able to speak Vietnamese to the staff! That's usually a clear sign for me that a restaurant will potentially be legit based on that.
I will say, the reviews on here don't do the place justice. Ordered the Pho Bo Tai and Pho Bo Kho. Both were great and we had no complaints about our food and the taste was on point. The Pho Bo Tai is good and the Pho Bo Kho is rich and amazing! Reminds me of home cooking and would definitely recommend and come back to this place in the future!
This place has awesome, fast service. The food is great. The waiters are polite and respectful.
