Pathways, Buffalo NY

Why do they pay you guys to go there? I know of someone who is going there just for that simple reason. Not sure if the insurance is over paying or what.

They shut the door in my face after my counselor told me it's "my choice" if I relapse because the cab company they have contracted for me has a history of not picking me up for my appointments.

The staff here does not like to answer the phone or return any calls. Ive left messages upon messages trying to get a hold of someone. Anyone! And have recieved nothing back. They also treat all clients here like children instead of adults wanting to better their lives.i gave it 2 stars instead of one ONLY for the simple fact that being on methadone has given my life more stability but as for professionalism goes.or common courtesy, this place is definitely lacking.

Also. Not for nothing, but i figured i would mention a situation that just this last week i saw happen. An older man in a wheel chair pulled up in a taxi van in front of the clinic doors about 10 minutes before they lock the doors at 1pm. The security gaurd was standing in front of the door waiting. The man in the wheel chair was struggling to get out of the vehicle so i went over to try to help him.but him being a full grown man and me being almost 7 months pregnant, i was not much help. This secirity gaurd watched us struggle the whole time. Finally we got him out of the car and up to the door as the security
gaurd was about to lock it. It literally had just turned 1pm in the dot so he did not let the old man inside to recieve his medication. He sat there and dint offer any help, the doors werent even locked yet, and I couldn't believe the cruelty of this security gaurd. Not only did he not help (who turned out to be a disabled veteran) he also went out of his way to not let him through. Smh. Sitiations like this happen more often than naught. Very very sad.

Great place nice counselors, the one thing I dont understand is why do they start u out at a low dose of 30 mg of methadone, and slowly raise it, I would have preferred to start at a Hugh dose so I was comfortable, and slowly went down, the point is to get off the drug, not to work my way into a new addiction. And I have been there 3 months and still only at 70mg, not enough to be comfortable. So I continue using when I feel the need. And every time I ask for a dose I.crease I get denied because I fail my drug test. Its a catch 22. If I could get my dose up to 100 I'd be able to stop using, and pass my tests. If I started at 100, I might have been able to ween myself down to almost nothing by now. Its all about profit, they need u to keep coming so they keep getting paid. They should start u high, ween u off and make room for the next person. I waited 7 months to get into the clinic after I got on the waiting list. To an addict 7 mi this is a lifetime. A lot can happen in that time, including death or jail which we all are doing our best to avoid. Its a great help the system needs work though

I feel very greatful for the opportunity to be a client of theres but it really really pissed me off when I was about to get my first 2 take outs and becuase alcohol showed on my urine tox now I have to start all over from scratch and they dropped my dose to which now I wake up during the middle of the night sick and withdrawling idk I've asked to get a dose increase and have been denied so as I see it I need to test positive for opiates they'll raise my dose totally ass. Backwards just saying. Wondering if anyone else has been confronted anything similar?
