Patisserie Claude reviews
16Unassuming spot but the pastries are amazing! I recommend grabbing a snack and sitting outside.
Small and unassuming bakery / pastry shop in west village, but the pastries at @patisserie_claude is so tasty it’s totally worth stopping by to grab yourself a treat! There’s basically no seating, so I would recommend to grab coffee and find seating elsewhere.
Wonderful French tarts & quiches which will take you back to old New York & simpler times and venues.
This is a small gem hidden in the city. My steady to go are the Almond Croissant, Quiche and their Chocolate Opera Cake. Always fresh and perfectly made. Assorted cookies are for special occasions.
Everything on this place is delicious the real problem is decide what to go for
I took some of the desserts to go and they were pretty good. The service and to-stay experience leaves a little to be desired in this place.
When I was born (at NYU hospital) Claude sent a dozen croissants to the hospital. I’ve been coming here since I was little, and it’s always going to have a place in my heart. The best patisserie in the city, hands down.
Everything I've ever ordered there has been fresh, high- quality, and delicious; keep up the great work!
Added 4 Mar. 2023: Service has declined, though: the gentleman who is almost always there when I come in seems more interested in chatting with his fellow Spanish speakers than serving customers; last time I came in, I had to wait several minutes for him to come back to the counter, and, another time, my order wasn't filled correctly.
$5 for an almond croissant and coffee. What's not to like? ! And you're not compromising.tasty croissant, strong coffee
I was looking for French Pastry and I decided that day to visit few shops.
Patisserie Clause was the first one I’ve visited.
The first things that caught my eyes was how dirty the floor was with croissants crumbs, eventhough I was the only customer in the shop.
I ordered one millefeuille and an abricot tartelette, and i noticed they were not fresh, so I asked if they were fresh and I was told “everything here is fresh”.
I was so frustrated, the custard cream had cracks which means that the it lasted at least 2 days in the fridge, and the tartelette was so soft I couldn’t take two bites from each one of them.
I told the cashier this is far from fresh pastry, I threw them in the trash and left.
No apologies whatsoever!
This is not French Pastry, this a shame and I won’t recommend it to anyone.
Spanish music and the most doughy croissant I’ve ever had. Swiss Miss Hot Chocolate! Buyer beware. I’ve been to Paris and this is not even in the ballpark! Staff very nice though!
4.7 stars? Really? I decided to try a variety of croissants from here and was heavily disappointed. I tried the chocolate and almond croissant, peach tart, broccoli quiche, cinnamon raisin roll. All the stuff was plain looking. No efforts taken on at least making it look like a croissant. The chocolate one was the best among them, flaky and crispy. The peach tart was good too. Broccoli didn’t go well at all in the quiche, wish they had tasted it before putting it on the menu. Cinnamon raisin roll was dry. Almond croissant was mainly cream cheese with a slight flavor of almonds. I have had better croissants than this from places not having that high of a rating. Don’t understand the hype.
One of the best almond croissants I have had so far! Went around 11 am and a freshly baked batch was there. It was soft, warm and tasted great!
They don't have a beverage menu in the store. The cappuccino I got was burned. I was not offered sugar for the ice coffee which was very bitter. The food variety is not enough.
This small little pastry coffee place is a hidden gem of NYC. The most delicious artisanal pastry in town. Not to be missed.
You used to be able to come here and be shouted at by Claude. I miss.that but this is still the best bakery in town.
Horrible customer experience. Called to check if they have large cakes in stock ($25 cakes that they have listed online and seen on some of the review pictures) and the person almost shouted and mocking me for asking because it’s OBVIOUS that they are needed to ordered. Better to go somewhere else if you want a cake right away.
