Paul's Cocktail Lounge reviews
16This place is great with an awesome vibe. The people inside are all having a great time! I don’t know what all the negative reviews are about, it seems like they have been targeted with a baseless social media hit campaign
Let’s start off with the trailer trash looking scummy door guy denying entree to stunning women because they aren’t white. I got in, but that experience really sat poorly with me. The bathroom was disgusting and the workers inside were also rude. I feel like there just are better places to go. I ended up just leaving.
If I could give any review negative starts, this would be the place. Racist. I tried to go in with my friend (we are both Asian, late 20s, dress nice, and will spend money on a fun night out). We were obviously ignored and whenever I tried to politely ask, we were ignored or laughed at. Meanwhile, anyone that was white and young were allowed in. To be treated like I wasn’t even human was absolutely most humiliating experience.
This club is honestly one of the few places in NYC that makes an effort to make you feel amazing!
Tried to come here with my friends. Keep in mind we were formally dressed & all above the age of 21. We're rudely ignored, NOT EVEN GREETED by one of the bouncers and discriminated just because we were Asian.so many white folks get in without any type of question, but for some reason they completely ignored my friends. Just check out the previous reviews, this bar heavily discriminates in general and should be shut down since they wanna do this the "jim crow law" style. It's 2023.come on now. Everyone has had the similar experiences relating to this racial discrimination.pretty much if you're not white you're not gonna get it.
-100000 service was trash. They discriminated against my friends. TRASH place. Native New Yorker born in BK and so over all these gentrification issues and this is place is one of them. Not an actual NY place at all.
It is basically illegal what they are doing here.per the Civil Rights Act of 1964, a business cannot deny service to someone on the basis of race/ethnicity.it is abundantly clear on the multiple reviews here that this establishment is racist and discriminatory.there are hundreds of better bars you can go to.give this one a skip
Avoid this place at all costs, my wife is Asian and the doorman with the dumb and dumber style haircut was letting people in ahead of us and was very rude when we asked about it. This is a Racist establishment.
I don’t understand why this place still open! All these reviews already said what I came to say, how sad that this bar is in NYC…
The guy at the door is possibly the rudest person I have ever met on the planet. I’ve been coming here for years and am a local. I had a few friends in town and wanted to show them NYC night life and I cannot believe how he treated us. He looked around and said “not tonight” and when I asked him why he said “not tonight” again and couldn’t articulate why we couldn’t get in. Just a disgusting human being. I watched him let in a bunch of under age girls. Because we were between 25-35 we were old meat? ! Disgraceful way to treat anyone, especially women. Get this guy out of here. I promise it’s doing no good.
Horrible place. Drinks taste sooo bad and I saw blatant drug use by both employees and customers
The white guy with the white tank and wouldn’t let the Asian girls in just wanna say the outfit is outrageously ugly and same with ur 2003 haircut along with your smug face! At least look the part can’t be ugly and have ugly personality damnz ew
My drink was horrendous tasted like gasoline and Splenda and the bathroom is nasty there was fecal matter everywhere
The few times I've gone I've gotten in with no problems so this review isn't focused on that. However, after my final visit I wished the bouncer (a bald, darker skinned man-not even the same one everyone complains about) a GOOD NIGHT to which he called me "fried rice" to refer to my Asian appearance.
Even excluding the blatant racism of the staff, I've never understood the hype about this place. Underaged yt girls and random old guys who paid $4000 for tables to prey on them, unremarkable $25+ drinks, and the place is really small. "Exclusivity" to these people really just means racism and discrimination. Let's leave this place in the 2000s where it belongs.
Lounge is not welcoming at all and is so rude to you. Would never come here again, do not recommend and avoid at all costs.
