Peacefood Cafe reviews
19The staff here is very rude and unprofessional. I spoke with the “manager” who refused to share her name with me. I ordered nearly $60 and requested ketchup and received my meal (s) with no ketchup, low quality vegan food, and only one fork for 3 dishes. Manager at Uptown location told me that I was disrespectful and my business isn’t needed after calling to let her know what happened. Extremely disappointed with the low vibrational service I experienced today and lack of understanding as a customer. I won’t ever support Peacefood Cafe again. “Manager “ seems to not do well receiving feedback, good, bad and or indifferent.
Great service and very interesting menu. I tried the Japanese pumpkin sandwich and the chick’n fries. Holy moley. I will definitely be back for those desserts! Yum!
A little bit on expensive side. Menu options are limited compared to other vegan places. But good so far. Must go place.
Quick service. No really quick service even during a very busy afternoon. Outside dining in the shade is great. The PFC Tenders were crispy and tasty. Most popular dish are the Chickpea Fries which are amazing! Highly recommend.
Reliable Peacefood. You know what you will get and you go there for it.
Time to get more airflow into those plastic seated areas. We were roasting from the greenhouse effect.
My experience at Peacefood yesterday evening was anything but peaceful. Not sure if our waitress was prejudiced or just downright rude but her lack of enthusiasm, combative energy, rolling her eyes at our requests, even telling us we were done instead of asking us if we wanted dessert was all very unpalatable. Additionally, the bathrooms looked and smelled filthy. Two stars for the friendly host and decent food.
There was a minimum for debit card I was off by $2 there was nothing else on the menu that I wanted so I saw a woman cutting up fruit I guess for a smoothie and I asked if I can buy a couple of pieces and she graciously accommodated me
They're a bit confused and fail to embrace what vegan food can do! There is no need to try to imitate non vegan dishes. Fortunately, the quality of the imitation is quite good.
Great vegan selection. The food was prepared quickly and delivered to the table in a timely fashion. Flavorful and delicious. The only star missing is the wait staff. The server was friendly and knowledgeable but forgot simple tasks, my guest asked for a straw and I ended up getting it for her. But great food and service overall. Please support this great safe place!
Tasty creative food with good attentive service. A nice juice and hot drink menu as well. Counter service if you need it or table service. Chick pea Fries and dumplings highly recommended. Good soups too. Wish it had a bathroom though.
Amazing food, big variety of dishes and it's all vegan
The tempeh avocado is delicious! The staff is super nice, we got to the restaurant half an hour before it closed and the let us in and were very nice to us even though we stayed late. It's a bit expensive because the dishes small but not much more than other restaurants in the area, and also not that expensive for vegan food.
Very good! The cheesecake was wonderful! And so the tiramisù! It's a good Place to eat not only for vegan but for everyone
Even after months of moving it of NYC my fiancé and I are still craving the PFC unchicken basket. Trust us and get two orders so you have some to take home as well.
Great vegan food. They have everything from the really healthful to the classic " junk food ". The PFC (like KFC) is slamming. Message to owner. You really should consider a brunch menu with PFC and waffles as the star!
Fabulous food and even better desserts. The menu tends to get a little boring over time, but the chickpea fries and anything in the front case are not to be missed.
Loved loved loved this place! Only tried the focaccia panini with pan fried French horn mushrooms, but it was amazing! Highly recommend this place!
This is a cute vegan cafe in a nice neighbourhood. Definitely a great place for non-vegans, too. I've had the miso & sprouts sandwich, which came with jicama "fries" (SO good!), and the vegan pot pie (amazing). The vegan pot pie would impress any non-vegan. I also had a soy latte, which was so creamy and steamed to the perfect temperature. The one thing negative I have for the place is that it was too cold- the air conditioning turned a bit too high maybe? Other than that, no complaints!
I’m usually at the downtown Peacefood location but whenever I’m near the uptown location I make it a point to eat here. Tonight I had the Beyond “Chicken” Salad which is tasty, vegan and gluten-free! I also had a cold-brewed green tea with coconut which I recommend.
Of the two Peacefood Cafes on Manhattan, I prefer this one. It's smaller, cozier, more intimate and I found the waitstaff to be much friendlier, too. Strangely, the quality of the food preparation was also superior - I ordered the same plate at both, and the food at the E 11th street branch was totally underdone. Overall, though, the food at Peacefood is utterly delightful, fresh, and light. Love eating here.
