Peconic Bay Medical Center, Riverhead NY

This is in regards to the icu nurses in particular. My father had a massive heart attack which led to him to have a brain injury. He was in the ice for 1 night and a full day. All the nurses were absolutely fantastic. I can not say how grateful I am for the way they took care of my dad in his final moments. They were helpful and kind. And they never once gave me false hope or information. They were amazing. I cannot say enough about them.

Had a great experience delivering my baby at Peconic Bay. Everything went excellent, staff was caring and nice, and doctors were great too. LC Candy is really the best and was super helpful.

This is by far the worst emergency room hospital in the state of New York. It’s very sad, even though Newley renovated & ran by north well health it is still atrocious. My visit to the emergency on a slow day 2 other patients waiting I witnessed an elderly woman in a wheel bleeding all over the floor as the staff continued to chat & not cater to her with her asking for assistance. Very disturbing. On top of that I had a 104 fever & the staff penalized me for lowering my mask in 2023. I explained that I could pass out and lose oxygen and they did not care. Terrible hospital. Always terrible. Absolute joke upon friends and colleagues who are in the medical field for years. Shame. Peconic bay you are absolutely terrible and don’t have a caring staff that truly wants to help people and make a difference. APPALLING.

Bring a 14 year boy with trauma setting in hall for more than 3 hrs waiting. Paint killing him and at the end wrong diagnosis.
Not the way to thread a little boy, same as drunk people.
Horribly experienced.

Was brought in by ambulance. I am now waiting 4+ hours to be seen. There are no rooms and ONLY 1 Dr.and 1PA in the Emergency Department. SMH. Poor management!

The worst nurses I have ever had. Very disorganized with out of date technology. Would avoid it if you can

I am celebrating 5 years now after have a surgery that literally saved my life I am thankful to the Doctor who GOD used to help keep me here and all of the others Drs.and Nurses who were there for me in the time of my need I call them all Angels thank you thank you GOD is Great!

I want to thank the staff of your hospital for the good care I received after my recent surgery. I was in the PCU unit and was treated well. I guess I overstayed my welcome because I was transferred like on my last night to a ward for the elderly who screamed and yelled and cried the whole time I was there. The nurses are overworked and sometimes didn’t do some of the things they said they would do like giving my an unbloody gown or calling pulmonary when I was short of breath. It took over 24 hours before they took it seriously and called the pulmonologist and started me on a nebulizar. Also no one but a nurse on the midnight shift looked for the source of my bleeding and bandaged me and cleaned me up. This nurse named Julie took care of me on the midnight shift in the PCU October 10/5 and was also there to give me incredible care in the regular unit starting at 2100 hours on 10/6-7. She also was so kind and incredibly helpful to an elderly woman in the next bed who couldn’t communicate She spoke to her calmly and took such good care of her I was almost in tears. I hope you can figure out who she is and let her see this review. This nurse is exceptional and deserves to get awarded for her knowledge, patience, kindness and thoroughness.

Waited 3 hours and then left and went across the street to the urgent health care center. Use that if you can.

Had to be rushed to the ER on 10/11. I'm leaving one star because the staff has not sent my prescription to Rite Aid. I will remove review once I have gotten my rx

I've cant find one bad thing to say. This hospital is so clean, the staff is extremely friendly and helpful. Definitely the best hospital on long island

Great experience in ambulatory surgery- I had to be rushed back in while discharging me to the car due to unexpected complication and my nurse, Teesha, was amazing. She reacted quickly and was so caring. The whole team was great- professional and everything was so clean and proficient.

Had the worst experience here thanks to the incredibly rude staff. Got a ventral hernia removed at 130pm, the nurses were rushing me out at 4: 30pm after i was begging them to let me stay for one more hour as the doctor said i would have 5 hours there for recovery. Incredibly painful and the constant disrespect from the staff made it so much worse

I had surgery at Peconic. It was my first time using this hospital, and I was quite pleased! Everyone was friendly and the hospital was clean as a whistle. Everyone went over everything in detail with me, and everyone asked questions to make sure I was aware of everything going on. When I came out of anesthesia, the nurse was so lovely. She gave me some cookies and a few glasses of water before wheeling me down to go home. Great experience. Definitely liked this hospital.

I give hospital 5 because not only is the hospital very clean the doctors and nurses. They all need a Patt on the back. I do not leave out everyone the cooking staff and Chef is excellent. I went to hospital’s before and the food wasn’t even meant for my two dogs seriously. So to all staff of pbmc great work.

Sunday night. 3 patients total in ER. Waited for 2.5 hrs to be TRIAGED. Thank god we weren't dying bc that's what would've happened if husband was critical. NEVER GOT TRIAGED. Needed stitches. Decided to leave and head to a more attentive local clinic. Would warn others to go anywhere BUT here if they need emergent help. These people couldn't care less about helping anyone. Now I understand why people say there isn't any quality hospital on the North Fork and unfortunately, they are 100% correct.

This is a review of the facility and general care and not specific to the Doctors or procedure. Very clean and efficient hospital in riverhead. My father had surgery and had been there for over a week and very pleased with the facility. Bathrooms and waiting areas were well kept and frequent check ins. The staff was very friendly and had a pretty efficient process at check in. Parking is across the street but they do offer valet parking. The person that tends to the parking lot takes his job too seriously and not that welcoming when you park. You need proof of vaccination when you enter and prefer you use one of their new masks.

The only highlight of this whole hospital is the maternity ward and it’s nurses they are phenomenal caring very attentive and you can tell they love what they do. The emergency room is a hot mess very rude unprofessional will give you one diagnosis while your there then discharge you with a totally different one the view your case as just a regular file they are trying to get thru. The only reason why I have them five stars is bc of the maternity ward and it’s nurses
