Peking Duck House reviews
15My favorite Chinese restaurant in the world. Always hot, fresh, and tasty. Chicken - even if fried, never tasted greasy or leaves you feeling heavy and is so tender! The pepper steak was cooked perfectly. I wondered why there were no knives on the table. It's because you can cut the meat with a fork. Service is excellent too! They noticed I had difficulty walking and offered me an alternative restroom upstairs.
Very authentic duck dinner. I've had some of the best duck while traveling in Beijing and this was just as good. Crispy skin, tender meat, delicious plum sauce. Just fantastic
It offers decent pecking duck with short wait time. The skin is not as crisp as one would like but it’ll do if you need a quick fix. $65 is enough for 2 but they don’t cook the rest of the duck your style like overs do so no idea where the rest of the duck goes.
Love the food it was an awesome experience.
The waiter were attentive and professional. We l loved everything we ordered and took the leftovers home. Will definitely go back that house special fried rice got me!
I definitely recommend this place if you're craving Chinese food and are willing to Chinatown.
Me gusto banstante y lo recomiendo
I went with my family, a party of seven, trying to have a great food experience in China Town in our first time in NY.
Sadly what could’ve been a wonderful experience turned soon in disappointment.
Bad customer service, rude and unprofessional, not even water was offered. Many mistakes in our order, missing plates, others never requested and appetizers after the main course ️
BTW main course was pecking duck. Usually a show to slice it. Not this time. We didn’t have a chance to see it, the slicing nor the duck.
They brought the check without us requesting it so we couldn’t order dessert or after dinners.
I had to request for the manager to be able to pay just because the waiter didn’t want to take separate cards.
Summarizing, horrible experience.
Do not come here. Save your time, money and good humor.
The food and atmosphere is very good. Service is quick. It's on the pricey side, but it's worth a try and I do highly recommend and I think you can wine, too
Delicious duck, be prepared it is oily and half of the meat is just skin. We also did order fried rice (yum), fried noodles and steam buns with chicken. Portions are huge, we took some home. Great place for friends/family to share, and try different dishes. Bill with tips was 120$. Hot tea is coming by default. Only thing I would improve is service 4/5.
Food is ok, nothing really special tho.
Duck was OK, nothing to brag about.
Crispy rice soup was good but portion!
Portion was a small teacup.
Other food was also just OK.
The duck had perfectly crisp skin, yet the meat was tender. However, since this is their flagship dish, it shoud be amazing, especially since it was not cheap. I kinda wished they had better drink selections, but the hot tea they provided was delicious!
All we got was their flagship dish, the roast duck special - and it was good! Excellently crispy skin, tender meat, and a delightful sauce to go with it all. Plus, the chef sliced the meat off the bird and arranged it in front of us; it was a good show. However, they did not give us the legs, head, or neck; apparently they use it all for making stock/broth. It did feel like something a little missing, though. But the duck meat was tasty, the ambience was pleasant, and the service was fast, so I can’t complain too much.
Amazing roasted duck, and impeccable service. Expensive for the regular dishes such as sesame chicken. Also they served only one bowl of rice for a table of 6. We had to ask them for more.
I love duck and I’ve had it in several different places across the US. This place does not serve nearly as much quantity as some of the others and is almost double the price ($70). Also mosquito found it’s way in my water:/. The staff was nice.
Duck is so so. Other dishes are expensive in general while the taste as well as quality are not much better than takeout restaurants.
Such a pitty the service I received yesterday. I ask first for squid and scallops, instead I received shrimp (which I'm allergic) when I let the server know about the mistake he and the other servers took an attitude, they didn't apologize, they just act like we made the mistake. I DIDN'T EAT MY FOOD THE STAFF MAKE ME FEEL THAT WAS SOMETHING WRONG WITH IT AFTER ONE OF THE LAUGHED, and INFRONT OF US.
After walking through a restaurant 2 doors down that had peking duck on the window and not finding our friends, we walked over and found the place with the Peking Duck House flag/ banner hanging out front. The decor was more minimalistic, than anything, but pleasant enough. The food was more elegant than I thought it would be. The dishes were presented well, the duck carved in the room but not table side. The shrimp were perfectly prepared. The soup, noodles and dumplings were good but nothing stood out. All in all an enjoyable, pleasant meal.
