Penn Optical Group, New York NY

This place is a joke! They make you make an appointment and for 11: 45 and i arrive at 11;38 to sit and wait till 12;05 what they had me sitting there for 25 minutes and only one person in their office! Terrible service and terrible people! I hope they don't try and bill my insurance for doing nothing!

I went to Penn Optical for the first time and am really happy I found them. Dr. Tara Damani was great! She's professional, friendly and very informative. She went through every little detail with me and I felt heard and understood. The front desk staff was professional and very helpful as well. I will be returning and recommend this place.

The eye exam was great, and I was very satisfied when I left. I later realized they gave me someone else’s prescription, and took several days to get in touch with them to get the right one. They aren’t very responsive to messages and rarely answer the phone. Once I got someone on the phone, I got my prescription quickly.

Very friendly, they answered all my questions. They were able to see me right away. Great frames at reasonable prices. I would recommend them to alot of people!

I went in June with my insurance and was over priced 175 for co-pay. The other places only charge me 55. I didn’t get glasses or contacts and left. However they still charged my insurance

(Review based on 2021 visit) Doctor Tisch is great but he lost two multi-year patients in my husband and me due to the staff who handle orders at Penn Optical. Poor communication, botched deliveries, and general incompetence on the part of their procurement company. A year’s worth of contacts were shipped late and to a wrong address. When I requested my contact lens prescription to order from a different vendor, the wrong brand and product were listed, creating more complications and requiring an expensive product substitute. Such a mess…

I went to Penn Optical Group for an eye checkup. My right eye was feeling dry and bothering me. The Doctor that treated me was amazing. She found a tear in my retina and told me that I had to see a surgeon that night or I could lose the vision in my right eye. The surgeon confirmed the diagnosis, and I had surgery the next day. THANK YOU for the amazing treatment and for saving my right eye! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! Regards, Carlos Casap
