Perelandra Natural Food Center, Brooklyn NY

I love Perelandra for their bulk food room in the back, compostable sponges, refilling stations for soap and natural products. Organized, clean, and we'll stocked.

I've been a customer for 20+ years. Hands down one of my favorite places to visit. One of the original natural foods' stores in NYC.

Great organic juice bar. Better free range eggs than any brand at WF or Fairway. Update: within a year of that review, got food poisoning same day as having a juice. Then a few months later, again food poisoning, had to go to the hospital with wife, same day as both had fresh juice from Perelandra.

Thank you, Perelandra, for the wonderful Thanksgiving spread this year. We have a few vegan family members and the rest of the family loves what you cook, too. The "vegan triangles" are especially popular!

Organic food market with a deli and juice bar. Fresh produce and frozen foods are available; prices can sometimes be high, but produce is locally grown. Supplement section includes bulk herbs, teas such as Golden Seal, Chamomile and more. Helpful staff available all hours. Close to public transportation: N, R, 3 and 4; several buses and near retail shops, and restaurants.

I absolutely love Perelandra's for their produce. I usually purchase the Swiss Chard, lots of vegetables & fruits. They are so fresh; its as if you picked them out of your own garden and trees. I also enjoy their nut station. I suffer from allergies and can only eat a few nuts (which doesn't include almonds & walnuts which is in almost ALL fruit & nut bars).
At Perelandra's, I can buy the nuts l can eat in bulk and make my own version of trail mix or bars.
Parking there can be an issue, so you have to be patient.

Staff was very polite. Food was prepared as requested. Very busy during breakfast and lunch times so a little patience goes a long way. Overall positive experience.

This place is a rare gem in Bk from it's juice bar, kitchen, to its organic produce and vegetarian snacks. However I'm disappointed that the bulk food section supplies only plastic containers. I understand that I can bring my own containers but it's just not always practical. Less plastic!

Also lacking Laundry Soap Nuts.

The manager and an employee both came up to me and rudely asked me to leave the store because they were not open. After I informed them both it was 7 o’clock which was part of their hours of operation they looked at his own watch before realizing his mistake.

On a positive note, this place makes amazing juices - really good - don’t forget to tip!

The deli in the back makes wonderful plant-basexd sandwiches and wraps. Its so refreshing to have a place where everything on the menu is accessible and delicious.

I used to get the sandwiches here a few times per week and they were great. The last 3 TLS's I've ordered had the plant based "bacon" burned and the sandwich was barely edible with the "bacon" turning into rock hard chunks in my mouth. The last 2 vege-ball subs were extremely dry even though I asked for "extra sauce". I'm going to be getting my lunch elsewhere until they figure out their sandwich quality control. It ends up being a $10 lunch that isn't very enjoyable anymore.

Love the idea of this store and have been trying to support it for almost 20 years despite the customer service being somewhat hot and cold at times. But today I tried for the this time in a week to patronize the juice bar and for the third time failed. Since there is no clear demarcation of where to stand to wait to order versus where to stand to wait for your order to be filled, and since the service is usually somewhat slow, one is often at the mercy of self policing. Today I walked up to the order counter and waited patiently. After several minutes of not being acknowledged by anyone behind the counter (this is as per usual) one of the other customers who I thought was waiting for her order walked up and confronted me for cutting in front of her. There are at least 3 other juice establishments within a short walk and I will be taking that walk in the future.

Stopped in for a few bananas. When I walked by their food bar, the aroma of East Indian spices enticed me to browse.
Went home with some of their Spinach Saag with tofu instead of paneer.and some brown rice.
Omg! It was amazing! The flavors dance in your mouth! Yummm!

Friendly, and a wide selection of foods for people trying to be healthy and planet conscious.

I like the variety of items, very convenient hours of operation; the customer service is really lacking.

Lots of vegan items you just won't find anywhere else, you will find here. Don't fear it when it's busy they are efficient!
