Phớ Bằng reviews
13An old school Vietnamese Restaurant in the heart of downtown Flushing. Locals come here for the food, not the decor, so don’t let appearances turn you away from perhaps some of the best grilled pork chops in town.
My husband and I dined in yesterday for lunch. This is our first and last time dining here. I can not believe that this restaurant got a 4.1 rating. This restaurant is a disgrace to Vietnamese food. My husband and I both got the pho soup. The soup was lukewarm. The broth had no flavor. They did not use the correct flat rice noodles. They used the bun rice vermicelli noodle which threw off the flavor completely! Why would they do that? Then we ordered food to go. We wanted to give the other food a try since the pho was horrible. Boy was that a big mistake. I ordered their Vietnamese sandwich, banh hoi thit bo lui, and their seafood noodles. The Vietnamese sandwich was horrible. Their pickled carrots was overpowering, overly sweet and very wet. They also did not use the correct meat for the sandwich. The banh hoi thit bo lui beef was tough and also overly sweet and their seafood noodles was the biggest disappointment. Their sauce tasted like ginger flavored dirty water and the mushrooms in the dish tasted like metal can! Overall we spent $80 in total and that was the biggest waste of money. This establishment should be ashamed of the horrible food that they are producing and their cook needs to be reevaluated. I highly do not recommend this restaurant at all!
The food was mediocre and was overcharged me for a dish, hope it was worth this review it my guy
The attitude of the people that work here makes the food taste horrible. Guy asked me to pay as I was eating so I asked him why he was being so rude and he just ignored me. Go to the place next door the people there are way friendlier and the food is better.
Very kind workers and amazing food, i don't have to wait long for food to arrive at my table and the workers know my order very well as a result of me going there my whole life, they've basically seen me grow up! Totally recommend
We ordered garlic watercress and porridge here. It's tasty and fresh. Yummy!
Will come again for sure!
Prices are very fair, and the pho broth is superb! It has a bit too much cooking wine for my tasting, but I still love it! It's great to have during a cold day
A big bowl of pho on a cold winter night just hits the spot! When we arrived to the block, we noticed another Vietnamese restaurant right beside it, I'm glad we chose Pho Bang! The #2 was so flavorful & mouth watering. The spring rolls were a hit, super crispy & tasty! Flushing is full of amazing foods, & this place will be added to my favorites for sure. Pretty affordable too for a meal this tasty & filling. Make sure to bring cash
The food here is great but on multiple occasions, they have messed up my takeaway order due to utter carelessness. The food comes out and it's only after 15 minutes of sitting there getting cold that they realize it's your order. Any hint of customer service is absent and the front desk / cashier (presumably the owner) seems more interested in adding up receipts than paying attention to his customers. To top it off, when I get home, critical pieces of my order are frequently missing. This is the 3rd time in the last 2-3 years that something similar has happened. As good as the lamb chop and pho are, it's really not worth the frustration and disappointment that I've experienced. You can have your 4/5 rating but I'm not coming back! Would love to hear from the owner but I won't hold my breath!
Greedy ppl ask you for double tip they make their own tip if you tip them 4 bucks they ask for 6. Why have to make up their own tip. Only takes cash
Very disappointed in this place. I was trying to pay with my credit card and they were very rude don’t accept credit card.
Vietnamese food ok, it will warm up in a cold day, but nothing spectacular. Not my favorite Viet restaurant.
