After sending my Canon 17mm Tilt/Shift lens to a repair place in Los Angeles, which took 2 months to "repair", I discovered that the lens was still not focusing properly.
I reached out to Photo Tech. Paul was amazing! After getting back to almost immediately he asked for details and photos of the lens before confirming they could repair it properly. I sent the lens up for a Tuesday delivery by Wednesday morning they sent me photos of test charts showing what was wrong with the lens and what it would cost to repair. By Friday they were shipping the lens back to me. And they even gave me a break on the cost since I had already spent money with the LA repair place.
They are the best repair facility I've ever dealt with!

I don’t typically leave reviews but these guys are so great I felt compelled to. I’ve sent them multiple lenses and cameras over the years and their techs have always done high quality work and everyone I’ve dealt with over the phone and e-mail has been pleasant, professional, and honest. I can’t recommend this business enough if you need to get a camera or lens repaired.

Quick professional service. Pleasant staff. Conveniently located.

My practically brand new Sony A1 purchased 7 weeks ago from Adorama blew a PCB while traveling in Europe. Obviously under warranty so the repair cost nothing. The only unsatisfying element is that I received no explanation of whether my use of the camera had precipitated the issue, whether they see this often in brand new A1’s, or what. The employee who attends the front desk said he is not a technician so cannot provide any explanation other than reading off of the invoice.

I understand there is no value-add for them as if a tech were to explain to me what happened, that is time the tech is not repairing other cameras providing other people quick turn around.

In the end, I appreciate that there is such a great group of capable people providing reliable, professional service to get our gear back in order.

I had an excellent experience working with PhotoTech to repair my venerable RX1 camera.

Upon submitting an inquiry for a quote, I entered a friendly exchange with their customer service individual, who gave me details of what my repair might entail and what the inspection and final quote process would be. Since my camera is an older digital camera (12 yo), I offered to pay for a cleaning, lubrication, adjustment if necessary. They set my expectations on the cost range that the repair might be, and they offered to confirm with me the precise cost once they were able to inspect the camera. (There was an option to have them just repair it without confirmation if I would like, but I was able to choose the path of the process. I understand some professionals need their gear back in their hands as quickly as possible for work.)

The final repair cost was very reasonable, and the CLA was deemed not necessary, so I was only charged for the repair I had requested.

My camera came back to me EXTREMELY well packed. In fact, out of all electronics packages I've ever received, the way they packed the camera is probably the best I've ever seen.

My RX1 returned to me in perfect condition as it had left my hands, operating as good as new.

Very friendly, detailed, fair, and reasonable exchange. I appreciate how they conduct themselves in their communication, the quality of repair, and care of packaging. There are plenty of horror stories of camera repair shops conducing less than professional business practices. I appreciate PhotoTech holding the gold standard.

They've earned a lifetime repeat customer for sure!

B&H had referred me to Photo Tech a few years ago, and I had an excellent experience then. Yesterday I went back for a new issue with my Fuji lens. The gentleman (I unfortunately didn't take down his name) who helped me was very friendly and suggested a very inexpensive solution. I highly recommend this professional, customer-friendly, and inexpensive service, right in the middle of Manhattan.

I literally cannot say enough amazing things about PhotoTech. I've been going to them for the past 6 to 7yrs. Can be more. But the service they give you especially in the Hackensack office is second to none. The fast turn around and communication has been a blessing. Amongst other things that make things much easier on the end user. They have always gone the extra mile to make sure they are covering all bases with Sony. Even if they make a rare mistake they quickly remedy the situation. I took a Sony 70-200mm lens that was not focusing properly pretty much like 4 times and they have always taken the lens as if it were the first time I took it. Come to find out the lens was replaced after showing Phototech proof and from there they escalated this to Sony to try to get a replacement. Which they did. (Which was still under warranty) But what I most appreciate about Phototech is the communication and effort to remedy the problem with your equipment. It's one of the few places I love taking my cameras to, even though it is not always a good thing to get your camera repaired but just feeling the level of confidence when you take your equipment there is invaluable.

I'm located in Indianapolis, IN and called B&H to see if they repaired lenses and they recommended this company. I broke a Sony 100-400mm off of a Sony A7s3 from the mounting connection. It destroyed the lens and the camera mount. I was fairly certain they were both ruined. This company (Photo Tech) said they could fix it. I needed everything back in a ultra fast turn around time or it was going to force me to sell for 20-30% of the retail cost and buy all brand new equipment.

Well this company came through! They repaired the camera mount and the lens mount (the lens mount was literally 100% severed from the rest of the lens). Not only did they get it repaired, they got everything back to me within 2 weeks, which is lightning fast. The camera operates like brand new and so does the lens.

The entire time this company showed me why a legendary name like B&H recommended them. They are professional, POLITE above all else, and blunt.

If you need your camera gear repaired, I highly recommend this company!

I am from out of state, so I had my lens shipped for repairs. Excellent experience every step of the way: great and prompt communication, fair prices, easy billing and payment, fast turnaround. The lens is working fine now, couldn't be a better experience.

I paid 149$ for a set of Sony wireless headphones with 2 cords. It was ordered through Amazon but fulfilled by Photo Tech.
She recieved an empty box. This isn't okay

Lens cover on my Lumix DC-ZS70 wasn't working properly. Technician took a look and a few minutes later it was fixed. No charge.

As a wedding professional that switched to Sony 3 years ago, finding a reliable repair center had been a challenge. Photo Tech was professional, organized, honest and quick! I had 2 lens’ and a camera body turned around in a weeks time! It’s a relief to finally have a repair center to call home!

These guys did an incredible job with repairing my broken Sony RX 100 IV. They are an authorized Sony repair service and the work they did was representative of that. They quoted me a fair price and did terrific work. In all honesty, I was initially hesitant about the cost (which was very fair) of the repair, but Paul and his compatriots did such a great job, it was so worth it! After I received the repaired camera I was thrilled to find it in like brand new condition and was glad I had it fixed by Photo Tech-they are true professionals in every sense of the word. I had forgotten how terrific this camera was, and I'm very grateful to have it back working again and look forward to snapping lots more pix.
