Physical Culture Collective / DiamondHeart Striking and Jiu Jitsu/PCC reviews
11 Thanks to the recommendation of a friend, I've been coming to PCC for almost a year at this point, starting as a newbie, and the experience here has been nothing short of spectacular. Coach Gavin and everyone else here have cultivated an inclusive environment where beginners and pros both feel at home, and it really shows with everyone I've had the pleasure to work with here.
It's been a great feeling to see the progress both in fitness/conditioning and technique since I joined, and my love for training Muay Thai grows with every session thanks to PCC. If you're on the fence on trying out a martial arts gym, please give PCC a try, I don't think you'll regret it.
Love this place. The coaches are all super experienced, not just in Muay Thai but in teaching - they keep it productive, safe, fun, and the whole community is really welcoming. I started here as a total beginner and it’s been a great time all the way through! It’s all about the good energy - everyone there wants to be there, especially the coaches.
PCC/diamond heart has a rock solid Muay Thai program with really great coaches.
The head coach, Gavin, has created a very welcoming community, where both beginners and advanced practitioners can learn in a safe and still competitive environment.
Weekly strengths/conditioning/yoga classes in addition to the Muay Thai, boxing and Jujitsu make it a very complete place to learn, practice and evolve.
Can’t wait to come back!
Highly recommend: Training is serious while people are friendly. The gym has something for people of all experience. The biggest draw for me was the comfortable cheerful vibe.
I trained Muay Thai for 2 years pre pandemic but took 2020 off completely. I joined the Muay Thai classes about 3 months ago at and I stayed because I liked:
- that it’s a solid workout
- the feeling of progress (there are advanced classes that you can join once you reach a certain point in your training)
- flexibility: you pay monthly for classes, and can come in on different days and times as needed
-amenities: there is a weight room/work out area available for members to use, along with plenty of bags for bag work
- fees: Reasonable prices
- coaches who are super knowledgeable and motivating
- there are frequent opportunities to attend workshops
I absolutely LOVE this place! As someone who has been training in various martial arts gyms for several years, I feel like I have found a home that meets all of my needs. The training is designed so that both beginners and advanced athletes are able to get a solid workout in throughout the week. Gavin is a fantastic coach who not only prioritizes everyone's safety, but also takes the time to get to know you individually and provide specific feedback that makes all the difference. Gavin's welcoming/fun energy, incredible work ethic, and positivity has attracted a wide variety of supportive coaches and athletes that have helped to create a "work hard/play hard" community. Training at PCC is a workout for sure, but always a blast.
Amazing! Huge gym with outdoor space and many more! A great environment for you to master your technique in whether you want to be on the fight team or just a beginner taking baby steps. Top-of-the-line coaches, very patient and professional and safe but hard training. Can’t be more happy with PCC thank you!
Highly recommended.
The introductory price and the 30 day money back guarante were a great way for me to start. Joining the BBJJ clinton hill program was stepping out of my comfort zone, but I gotta say following the first one on one class- I was hooked.
The staff is there to support each indivual and give them the best experience.
The environment is safe and allows one to fully commit to the work.
The Thai Kickboxing classes will leaving you feeling exhausted and yet rejuvinated at the same time.
I would highly recommend the BBJJ clinton hill program and you'll be glad you did.
I went twice through classpass and learned a ton, enjoyed the teachers and really felt like everyone there was passionate about fitness.
I just moved to NY and wanted to find a gym with all areas of martial arts.bjj.muay.boxing.for a good price.this is the place.i will definetly be back nov1 st. Thanks guys and they have military deals also.
Best gym I have trained so far. Nicely equipped and coaches are friendly. Tell them what is your goal and they will build perfect training program for you.
I've been training with Gavin for years. I've trained at several different Muay Thai gyms in NYC, and Gavin's programs is one of my favorites. He and his crew provide a holistic training approach that is ultra effective. His constant evolution of the curriculum keeps the sessions/classes interesting. I definitely recommend checking PCC out — don't be surprised if you get hooked!
