I’ve been here quite a few times and I love it! The location is perfect but parking is awful, there are a few buses and a train I think that can get you close by. It’s never been too crowded as it isn’t a big rink. It is outdoors which makes for a cool vibe near the water. My fave rink in Brooklyn

Wir waren heute vormittag dort und mussten nur 8$ für die Ausrüstung bezahlen. Die Bahn war recht leer und es hat viel Spaß gemacht. Das Personal war auch sehr freundlich.

I am writing this review as a school trip coordinator trying to book a group trip. I have called the listed number many times and there is no answer or answering service. The e-mail listed seems to work as they have e-mailed me back asking about my group, but after I submit the information they want to make a reservation they have not communicated back.
So from a group planning perspective only 1 star.

If you are going individually the place is great for walk-ups.

DO NOT CELEBRATE ANY BIRTHDAY HERE, IS AWEFUL, NOT WORTH THE PRICE AND GHETTO. I HAD AN AWFUL EXPERIENCE. TO THE POINT THAT MY DAUGHTER WAS GOING TO GET BEAT UP BY A STAFF MEMBERS FIREND FOR NO REASON.

This is my first time coming to a roller-skate ring. The place is eight on Pier 2 with an awesome view of the city. I got really better after skating for couple hours in the afternoon. The environment is being managed nicely (the staff is doing their job) but could be better I feel especially for the prime rate that is being charged on the rental equipment. I hope to come practicing roller-skating again soon!

The staff was very friendly and attentive. I was there for a birthday party. My daughter was a guest. It was a lot of fun even for those not super skillful at roller skating. The view was spectacular!

This rink is over priced. $11 for admission, $7 for skates & for a walker $6 smh. The skates were fair, but the admission should be cheaper & walker as well. They have kids working who were not attentive on the rink or the person providing the walker. They is no money back. No music, it was just boring. Won't go again

This is the only part of the park which you have to pay money to access. It has very limited hours.

Our second time coming! And we'll be back as long as it isn't too cold. Afternoon was fun to See the kids skating everyone enjoying falling on their butts honestly falling is part of the joy of skating but the one Friday evening we went was super dope vibes & music!

This place online was advertised as this nice scenic nyc skating rink. However it was located in the middle of this concrete complex with a metal roof and painfully bright overhead lights. You could barely see the actual skyline it advertises.plus they had trashy music. Why play Frat party music at a roller skating rink?

I enjoy coming here to skate but they should make sure they fix the floor because some of the floor tiles were lifted and I rolled close to them and lost my balance each time.other wise I enjoy being here and I will definitely come back again.

I did not like the floor.plastic squares? No good to skate on. Traction was not smooth to skate. It is a safety hazard. I see why we had to fill out a waiver if any accidents. I am a skater, been skating since I was a kid. The floor should either be hardwood flooring or smooth cement like at Riverbank Park in Harlem. Never had in my life if skating did I have to fill out a waiver to skate at any roller rink. My first time at BK roller rink, me my niece and my friend will not be coming back there.waist of my money. I was told that the floor is like that because it’s over the pier and the material under it is wood that is cracked. So maybe put wood over the plastic flooring to make for a better skate experience. But until that happens maybe I’ll come back. Thank you.

Overall I really liked this rink but there are some things I wish I had known beforehand. Parking is very difficult in the heights and also very limited at the park. There’s basically 20 maybe 30 parking spaces to accommodate the entire park. It was entirely full when I got there. There is not a lot of signage at the park that shows where to go. The rink is located on the middle north side of the rec area. The pier houses many different recreational fields - lots of basketball courts and the like — the roller rink is just one of them. The intake time was a bit long because everyone has to sign a waiver. They have a QR code for you to scan there. I was not able to find the waiver online to fill out before hand, I had to use the QR code they had at the rink. Kind of annoying but it all worked out in the end.

There are lockers on the other side of the rink that accept quarters only. There is no quarter machine so make sure you bring some. Otherwise you will have to ask the first window teller when you are “paying” to give you quarters. Or if you’re like me you will have to circle back after you paid because you didn’t read the signs and nobody told you. Before you pick up your rental skates you will need to get wrist guards first — they will not allow you to get the skates if you do not have the wrist guards on. We waited in line for awhile until right at the rental window the employee told us. I’m sure there was a little print out somewhere explaining this, but again I was not looking at the plethora of flyers they had taped to the teller windows. They’re small and easy to ignore when you are overwhelmed by the groups of people and children. The kids are excited and likewise very loud - which is great! But pretty distracting.

My favorite thing here is that they have wheelie walkers to help you if you are balance challenged like me lmao. They cost $6 and honestly very worth it. Without it I basically can’t move. Definitely a game changer for me.

The rink is really spacious and pretty clean. I went during free hours and even though it was very busy I still felt like I had space to fall over. The inside as well as the outside area of the rink are covered in blue plastic tiles. Which makes the whole area skate-able as opposed to only having the inside of the rink tiled. The outside area was really helpful to me and my friend in getting familiar with our skates and having space to mess up.

Before you go you really should watch a video on how to roller skate. It seems like it would be common sense… just walk in the skates (that’s not how it works). But nearly half the people there definitely weren’t familiar and it seemed frustrating for the kids and the parents. The employees there will not instruct you — they are not teachers. The music was GREAT here. Mostly hip hop and r&b which I was so grateful for. I definitely will be going back. It was so much fun and very affordable. They have free hours as well as paid hours. Just check the schedule online first.

Nice fun place to be at with friends or even just you and your significant other. Perfect space for the roller skating even though we didn't expect it to be outside at first but we ain't mind. Good for all leveled of skating but be mindful of around you when being around here since it tends to be crowded. Fun for all children all ages. Play basketball near by or ping pong. For roller skating it's 18 for a ticket, non refundable and you'll need to sign a waiver just to be safe and all before roller skating. But other than that pretty easy and simple getting set up and begining to roller skate. Had a really good experience here with my friends.
