5No shade, great place if you want a sun tan close to the pier there is some free kayaking available if you have the courage try it. Nice Bar on the pier as well did not visit it looked very busy. Nice for a summer walk
The best of all the piers in Hudson River Park, and there’s quite a few good ones. Such a buzzing scene on the weekends! Love all the recent additions during COVID.
Pier 26 is one of those places you have to see for yourself. It's an impressive design public space. I love the swings, in particular, the sunbathing chairs, 180-degree view of the Hudson, multiple layers sectional, and the elevations that change your viewing angle. I prefer not to review inner city, urban, or metropolitan hangouts - they are not as luxurious and accommodating to the public as they seem in photos and civic advertisements - a majority of my time is spent on trail.
This is one of my favorite parts of the city. Late in the evening there are almost no people, just random runners and cyclists. I love to come here when I need to be by myself. The water is so calming.
I must admit I haven't tried any of the activities at the pier, but just sitting on the bench next to the water always puts me at ease.
