Service was very hard to get the attention of, and our server was very inaccurate about the questions we asked about portion sizes. Food is good but expect the typical Times Square area service.

The best pio pio in the city, they don’t take reservations. The green sauce and the chicken are the main hits! The cocktails are also amazing

The first time I've ever been here. The food was amazing, The chicken was moist and tasty, the seafood platter was off the charts good and I couldn't stop eating the rice and beans. Even when the clan came it wasn't as good as Grandma Valle's but it was close. All and all a stellar evening of great food and equally great service.

Chicken was good and their drinks were ok. The service was horrible. Server came only once to check on us (we were in the restaurant for almost 2 hours) server forgot to bring us the drink we ordered and when we asked him to split the check (we told him that we needed to split the check when we first sat down) he said that they were too busy for that. Horrible service! ^

The chaufa is made with chicken tender bits. Really unpleasant, never had the chicken this way. The yuca frita was tough and dry like it had been sitting under heat lamps, not freshly made to order. The drinks amd refills take forever to arrive order two right away or you will be too thirsty by the time your next one arrives. The waiters look overwhelmed and we waited for 10 minutes before a waiter came to even start our order.
The actual rice in the chaufa was tasty but I picked out all the chicken nuggets. The lomo saltado was good.

Delicious and just about the best bang for your buck in the city. You can't go wrong with the dishes here as they are all amazing. A great place to come with your friends, family or even on a date.

Terrible attention from the entrance and with waiters, my first time and the last time I go to this place.

URGENT TRAINING in real Peruvian food

If you know something about Peruvian food, you will notice that the staff has no idea.

I asked the waiter for salchipapas and requested different sauces. He only brought the standart ketchup, mustard and mayo. No traditional sauces. When I requested for Huancaina sauce, he said it came with the anticuchos and that it was a green sauce! Anyone that knows Peruvian food, knows Huancaina sauce is yellow.

Ceviche had a bitter flavor. It seams that the juice was made way too in advance or was contaminated with bitterness of the skin of the lime. On top of that, the sweet potatoe was hard, not edible at all. We returned the dish almost as it came

Then, I ordered chicken causa and tuna causa to taste their different flavors. Unbelievably, both tasted exactly the same, no flavor at all.

Finally, we tried anticuchos. Seasoning was good. Anticuchos a little bit overcooked but still ok. Huancayna sauce (yellow, not green), had no flavor at all.

A real Peruvian chef cannot fail with ceviche, causa or huancaina sauce. A regular waiter of any Peruvian restaurant cannot mistake basic Peruvian sauces.

I am very dissapointed with PioPio because I know how good real Peruvian food tastes. Also, I feel sad for all the clients that are eating food with no flavor, thinking that is Peruvian food.

People from Pio Pio, you can do better. It is clear that you are taking advantage of the good image you built in the past and the good image that Peruvian food has now. But if you want to stay in business, please train your staff, give them a taste of real Peruvian food. Otherwise, you are not only going to lose your clientele eventually, but also damage the image of Peruvian food

This review might sound harsh, but the experience was really disappointing. I am just being honnest, so hopefully you improve

This is my 2nd time here in Pio Pio. This time it's much calmer in here. We had a nice and quiet lunch with the family and every dish was just perfect! We'll be back soon!

Came from Virginia and they turned us down because we didn’t have our vaccination cards with us. Absolutely ridiculous
