Overall I'm satisfied with this gym based on the priced. I left NYSC -125th because EVERY machine is broken. PF has multiple machines and depending on the time of the day, there are several available. Like other reviewers have noted, there are dumbbells misplaced/missing. It would be nice if they invested in some additional dumbbells and barbells because on a crowded day, you aren't going to have a good strength training workout. Additionally, like others have noted, there are multiple staff members surrounding the front desk. It doesn't bother me as I am more on the advanced level and don't need much attention from staff, it just seems weird and wondered if they could be needed elsewhere. Membership is only $10 so for that reason alone, I'm happy. It's a huge step up from the $59 I was paying at NYSC.

You get what you pay for. Issues I have are pretty evenly split between members and staff. By noon the dumbbells are scattered all over the gym and you have to hunt to find what you need. Have seen two guys hogging three barbells and 5 different dumbbells. Other times have see one person with three pairs of dumbbells by their bench. I've had to go to the chitchatting staff multiple times to tell them paper towels and/or spray was empty. I am about to sign up with Blink because this place is just blah. I have complained to the front desk/management and they seemed to be more bothered that I was complaining than about the actua complaints.

And now a carefully crafted yet useless generic response from Planet Fitness:

Shabby to the core. Most lockers broken. No hot water. The showers are *TINY*. Walked in today to see the NYPD taking a theft report. Business as usual at this location.

Can't best it for 10 dollars a month. It's very spacious and they have too many different workout machines. The people there are also friendly.

Not a bad gym. There is supportive environment such that weight lifting beginner like me feel welcoming.

But only three stars are given because there’s no free weight instruments. The gym is for beginners.

It was clean and had more better machines than Brooklyn Planet Fitness. As always everything is better in the other neighborhoods

It seems all PF locations won't let you cancel your account via the app (as most things are handled these days) nor can you simply do it over the phone.
You have to either send a certified letter (never heard of this in my entire adult life) or come in person (which can be difficult if you have a new job or just recently moved.). This is either a very outdated policy or purposely designed to be a headache for people so they can keep charging them.

Staff members are the best here. It's big and spacious.
Lockers are clean and there is access to paper towels, sprays and trash available to your disposal.

I don’t know what has been going on these last few visit but haven’t found disinfecting spray bottles or paper towels.
Right after I took these pictures one of the employees placed the disinfectant spray bottles.

No one walk around they stand upstairs bye door, people with no mask downstairs and no employees around to say anything, it getting worse in there

Although I am generally content with PF at 125th Street, the last two weeks have been characterized by a shortage of germicides and paper towels. Reason for this: understaffed and people taking a break. I hardly wonder whether hygiene and health should have another priority in this gym.

The staff is friendly and enforce proper mask wearing. "Social fitnessing" is in full effect!

Thankfully, this is New York and besides the staff keeping everything clean we the members are cognizant of what needs to be done, too. Plus, we're thinking of the next person who will touch any equipment we've touched.
Planet Fitness has taken precautions so that no one is exercising too closely to anyone else. Everyone is respectful of the others and their space.

Nice gym never really crowded and clean. Staff is friendly environment is cool. Near to my job is a plus!

The Staff is absolutely wonderfull very positive kids all of them except for that Russian sounding girl i think she hates my guts but shes still super hot looking
