Plaza Jewish Community Chapel staff helped me with every aspect of my father's funeral - before during and after. Every person I spoke with there was kind and professional, helping to navigate decisions and make arrangements. Even beyond that they offered helpful suggestions, always from the stance of being a community service, not-for-profit.

My mother purchased a prepaid funeral (which I would highly recommend) at Plaza Jewish Community Chapel. I can not say enough about this experience. My mom died 250 miles away from New York City. Plaza quickly arranged for transport back to NY. Every detail of the funeral, service and burial was handled efficiently and with kindness. Communication via phone and email was handled so well. I couldn't have imagined a more seamless process.

Gregory, Eugene and everyone at Plaza were amazing to work with. They made a difficult time as easy as possible, coordinating all the details and guiding us through everything with the greatest empathy. I can not recommend them highly enough.

Plaza Jewish Community Chapel is wonderful. They know what to do when you don't! We dealt with Greg. He took care of everything for us. My family was at their lowest and Greg took control. He arranged the rabbi, all paper work and all transportation. Everything went smoothly. Greg guided us and followed through on every detail; all we had to do was let Greg do his job. PJCC is the place to use when your family is going through the worst time possible. They were the only positive thing to happen to our family at this awful and sad time. They are the best! Greg was extremely thorough and helpful during one of the most difficult times for my family and I. Greg was invaluable in helping us understand the complex process of planning a funeral and burial and taking over the logistics to ensure that my family and I had everything set. He went above and beyond to locate and coordinate a rabbi for the cemetery after the Jewish holiday when there were no rabbis initially available. It was refreshing to be treated with kindness and compassion during this time when some funeral homes treat you like a transaction. His kindness and concern for our family was very much appreciated and the stress was alleviated during a very emotional day.

Plaza Jewish and Gregory did a terrific job helping our family through a difficult time. He helped us make decisions. No pressure. Everything done as promised. The facilities are very nice as well for a service.

When our mother passed away we had only a little bit of time to make arrangements, and from the very first moment we connected with the team at Plaza Jewish, we knew we were in competent and caring hands.

From a financial perspective, everything was extremely easy and transparent. There were no surprises and no attempts to "upsell" us on anything. Signing the contract and paying online were both accomplished within in minutes. There was no need to go anywhere to finalize the transaction.

After that, the team contacted us when our mother was retrieved from the hospital, and let us know when she was safely in her care. They arranged for us to have a very compassionate and interested rabbi who took time to learn about our mother so that the funeral was more than simply prayers and standard quotations.

When we brought her clothing to the chapel the next day, the team. - especially Gregory Katz-Zannitto - answered every question, made every accommodation, explained the things we would not have thought to ask, and were sincere in their condolences. We felt that both our mother and ourselves were well cared for and supported at a difficult time.

On the morning of the funeral everything was exactly as we had been promised - including a video screen that played some pictures that we sent at the very last moment. The chapel was comfortable and serene, and the rabbi did a wonderful job working into his comments the things we told him the day before, and the things he learned through the eulogies that were offered by friends and family.

Our mother wished to be cremated, and that was handled remarkably well, and the cremains were available only a few days after the funeral, enabling us to take them back to California. When we went back to Plaza Jewish to retrieve the cremains, Gregory was again very helpful (ensuring we had the necessary paperwork to bring the cremains on the plane) and compassionate and kind.

All in all, I truly felt that there could not have been a smoother or easier way to get through the difficult days following our mother's passing.

If you are considering using them, I recommend them, including Gregory, without the least hesitation and with the highest regard.

Plaza knows when you call them you are upset and really don't want to making the phone call. Plaza understands that you anxious and on edge. However, they put you at ease and explain everything you need to know. The staff is there for you no matter when you call, whatever the question. I worked with Gregory who coordinated everything for my family, he was professional and at the same time I felt as though he was my best friend making all the arrangements for my family. He knew everyone's name and who they were and was so supportive in every detail. He made a day that was probably the worst something that I did not need to think about or worry about. He coordinated every detail, and took care of details I didn't even think about. Right down to the smallest thing, Plaza has it taken care of, they know what they are doing, and do it with kindness and respect. Gregory did the worrying for me, and I am forever grateful to him and Plaza for making my fathers last day beautiful. He remains an important part of the story of that day.
