17It’s just one of those places you have to experience in the city. Make a reservation and bring out of town friends
Wow, the line trying to get into this place was unreal. We squeezed our way through Crif Dogs to put our name down on a Saturday night at around 11pm, got seated after about 40 minutes. But man, after you get past the crazy line, it’s so nice and relaxing inside. Their drinks were stellar. Iono why, but their tater tots were hitting so hard too.
This is probably the coolest "speak-easy" in New York. It's small, dark, and beautiful.
Fun speakeasy with a cool entrance through Crif Dogs. The drinks were good (except for the Kashmiri Lassi which we ended up returning for another drink). We got reservations for Saturday night, highly recommend doing so to avoid standing in queue to get in.
PDT is what you would call an institution. The very essence of a speakeasy down to its very core
The experience is second-to-none. With a warm wecome from the host to being seated with a friendly demeanorn to the bartender's warm greeting as well.
Drinks are made to perfection, as always, and the food is always prompt and arrives hot and ready to eat!
Reservations are strongly reccomendedn unless you do not mind waiting at Criff Dog's (which is not a bad thing!). If you think making a reservation is tricky now, you clearly missed the glorious phone call days and should be thankful.
Absolutely love this spot! Easy to find via Crif Dogs. Go into phone booth and dial 1. Hostess is very accommodating. Bartenders are great. DEFINITELY worth the wait! Don't forget to get your own PDT cocktail book to take home as a souvenir!
I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone if you're not from Croatia you won't get in I waited 3 hrs and eventually got in and wasn't what I expected so don't even bother.
It was a nice speakeasy type of experience.
Also liked the drinks, I appreciate their creativity.
I’m not a big cocktail person so I can’t speak to that. The service was fine too. I had to leave after my first drink to get some air though, the place is tiny. There are windows. The walkway is tight. The ceiling is low and it’s just dark. Maybe that’s what some people are looking for. Maybe that’s the allure of the place? Idk.
I was the only one from my group who go up and I simply could not figure out how to get out. The waiter asked what was wrong, and now a little flustered I just said “dude I’ve gotta get out of here. How do I leave? Where is the door? ”
He had to put down what was in his hands and go find a button of the wall which revealed the door we came in and allowed it to open.
I just simply would never go back inside this place for that reason. Plenty of better spots in the city for a nightcap.
Really cool low-key speakeasy hidden in a telephone booth. Great drinks and vibe. Food is good fills ya up, not crazy good but overall really liked the place
Great vibe and good drinks! I order tots and they were great (if you like tots, definitely partake. Don't miss out).
Great atmosphere, poor service, and overpriced drinks that were difficult to obtain. Not to mention the hassle to even get in with a reservation. Would recommend bringing cash for doorman to alleviate delays.
Amazing cocktails, very intimate vibe, and great staff. This is a great place for a date or gathering with a small group of friends.
Although on the pricier end of the spectrum, it is worth it; there was not a single cocktail we didn’t enjoy. There is no wonder why it’s so hard to get a table here. Definitely recommend booking a reservation to avoid the disappointment of not getting in (online booking window opens at 3pm EST, 7 days in advance). One of the best cocktail focused bars in NYC!
Visited from out of town. This is a fun gimmick, and the wait wasn't terrible. Sadly the gimmickry extended to cocktails, and the service was very slow slow despite the half the seats being empty. Would maybe stay for one drink just to say you've been but wouldn't bother ordering a second
Had a great experience here. From beginning to end. The drink selection is definitely out if the ordinary. Maybe a little out there for some of us, but man they sure are creative. The whole atmosphere, and the place just vibes.
Couples night out, friend's night, or even a date. This is a great place to stop by and enjoy. Just remember to say the password, or they won't let you in.
Visiiting from California. I loved this place! The drinks were great, servixe waa great, the food was great and the vibe was great. Great music selection - 90's to present. We didn't have a reservation but we're put on a waitlist because it was full. Our table for 6 was ready in 20 minutes (had a quick cocktail at the bar next door while we waited). The entrance is super cool: inside a phone booth inside a hot dog shop. Overall we spent about $50 per person with tip included. Totally worth the experience. I could've stayed here all night but we wanted to explore other places too.
Finally got in! This place was pretty hard to get in without reservations. The drinks were good but shouldn’t be worth so much effort to get in…
