Hotel Pod 39 reviews
16My wife and I took a trip to NYC right before the COVID-19 outbreak and decided to go with Pod-39. It was mainly because of the price, which was extremely fair. The location is hard to beat too. The space is very small, but for the price, you can't complain too much. It's basically a Tony bedroom and a tiny bathroom. The shower was pretty cool though. The bed was small but plenty comfortable. We enjoyed our stay and always had what we needed.
Our room was so cute and cozy! The neighborhood is great, lots of different food selections right around the corner, even right downstairs! The rooftop bar was so awesome, the view up top was wonderful and the staff was so nice! I would love to come back here!
Hotel very well located and a great price!
The accommodations are clean and well maintained;
Rooms are small (but I expected) quick and practical service.
The practicality in this hotel is incredible.
The lobby and roof are extremely pleasant and beautiful.
My wife and I stayed here back in 2016. The room we stayed at was small but comfortable. The staff were great and extremely helpful and the location couldn't have been better.
The hotel cancelled my booking because of the pandemic and I am still waiting for my refund now for 6 months. At first I was put off but the last mails are simply ignored. This is unbelievable! This is fraudulent behaviour. I can only advise against booking there!
The hotel is very good located and has a really nice rooftop (one of the best in NYC). The rooms are very small. Bathrooms have a glass door, so you can see everything.
Very clean room but too small (like a ship cabin), very friendly personnel and great location! No fridge in the room! The charge is very logic for what they offer!
Booked a room for my mother here at this compact and stylish hotel and she loved it! Great modern design, extremely clean, and incredibly convenient location for us all. Will be booking again soon for any visiting family.
The best thing about pod39 it's the localization. Very near a lot of good places for sightseeing and from the subway. The rooms are a little small, but it's a cozy place.
Good hotel but be warned the rooms are extremely small. Convenient location, right next to grand central station which basically brings you all over NYC.
Small little room but only for sleeping big enough. No noise from outside or inside so thats a plus.
Didn't stay at this hotel but visited the roof top bar. Great experience. Highly recommended whilst in New York!
Bathroom is has separate toilet/shower unlike the Brooklyn Pod Hotel, but the room was a bit dingy and had the smallest TV I’ve ever seen. Security guards near the elevators were very annoying. Good place to stay in a pinch but most likely will not be back.
Pods 39 is a solid hotel and a great way to save a few bucks when staying in Midtown. They are up-front with the fact that they are tiny rooms, but they dont skimp on the ammenities. Things like irons aren't in every room but they will bring one up of you ask. They even validate for a local garage, dropping the price per day lower than anywhere else I could find.
Very clean, comfortable beds, and good location. The v cleaning staff is excellent and the hotel staff is good. The only negative is the lobby and elevators get crowded because of the roof top club.
My boyfriend and I stayed here for 4 nights and 5 days over the 4th of July holiday. It was both of our first times in NYC in a while, and we wanted to make sure to stay close to the action. Boy, are we glad we stayed here! The service was topnotch; whenever I had a question, I could just pop down to the lobby and get it answered, or I could just use the telephone. While the rooms are not spacious by any means (they are called "pods" for a reason), they are clean and tidy and modern. The ceilings were really high as well, and I think that contributed to my not feeling claustrophobic. The rooms had all the necessities: bed, hangers, coat hooks, safe, places to store your luggage, shampoo/conditioner/body wash, hairdryer, and towels. It even had a few extra perks, like lots of cable channels (including HBO!) and a great view, especially from the rooftop bar (that I wish I took more advantage of but hey, maybe next time). It was 3 blocks away from Grand Central Station, so we had access to a ton of subway lines, making it really easy to navigate without Uber or taxis. It was nice to be able to walk around all day, take the subway pretty much directly back to our place, relax a little, and then head back out. All in all, we were very satisfied with our stay here and will most definitely be returning one day!
UPDATE: Take not that you have to put down an $80 "security deposit" when you get there via credit card. We left the room in tip-top shape, but never got that deposit back. I contacted the hotel, of course, and they said it could take anywhere from 5-10 days to receive it. While they were very responsive when pressed to further questioning, it was a real pain in the butt to contact them back and forth, only to never get the deposit back.
