Pollo D'Oro reviews
17The food in this place is amazing and you can definitely taste it. It was made with love. This is also top notch as well and your food will come quickly. I can't wait to return to this place and enjoy the ambiance once again.
Food was DELISH! Atmosphere was also great, the music made me feel like i was on a tropical cruise.food took an extremely long trime to arrive at our table, but the quality and taste made up for it
The food is delicious, drinks are strong, and the servers are friendly and welcoming. Never had a bad time here. 10/10
Nice pisco sour to start and a great ceviche and lomo saltado later, truly Peruvian flavor. To finish with a sweet torta tres leches and a piscola (not listed but made for us).
Outstanding service. Bravo!
Warning: 4% will be added if pay by card.
Non assuming Peruvian resturant that was around the corner from the Hampton Inn where we stayed. We made reservations through OpenTable and were required to make a refundable deposit for a non-show. So we thought it would be packed. Yet, when we arrived the resturant was empty and during the evening 2 more tables were occupied.
As for the food and the service, the service was top notch, friendly and helpful. The food was nicely presented and full of flavors. We did not leave hungry
The price was above average ($80 pp)
I came here for lunch with a couple of friends and my experience couldn't have been more pleasant. The service was amazing, the staff is incredibly attentive and welcoming. The food was delicious, rich in flavor, and cooked to perfection. The plates were presented beautifully, they looked almost as good as they tasted. The drinks were strong and had a beautiful presentation as well. Their restaurant sauces were exceptional, the waitress saw that I was running low on them a few times and kindly came over to refill them with no problem. The staff and cooks pay attention to little details and really strive to make sure you have an unforgettable dining experience. I recommend this restaurant to anyone, even for vegans/vegetarians, they have several different dishes to choose from. I will definitely be coming here again!
I don't recommend that restaurant sells very expensive and the amount of food is very little, it's not satisfactory
Food and service only fair at best. It was difficult to gain servers attention despite being completely empty. The real issue is a policy that adds 22.75% if you pay with credit card. This is not disclosed until the end of the meal. Service charge is automatic 18.75% for parties of 1 or 2. It is 20% if >2 persons. I wont return.
Staff is friendly
Place is clean and nice
Chicken is good but pricey 7/10
Salchipapas (fries with sausage) 8/10
My friend and I felt like having ceviche; we found this place and decided to give it a go.
It was just a quick stop, so we only had the Leche de Tigre ceviche, and the Passion Fruit Pisco Sour.
The highlight of our experience was most certainly our server, Nathalia.
She was very knowledgeable, kind and welcoming. At some point I tried out my Spanish and she went with it lol
But she definitely acted like someone that cared about our experience, about giving us the best of Pollo D’Oro and, for that, I give her 5 starts!
Keep it up with the great atmosphere and staff!:)
The food is seasoned well. I'm in love with that green sauce. Rotisserie chicken very good, a little small, plantains are very good and the empanadas are amazing. Buttttt, it's a tad bit pricey
Amazing restaurant. The tiradito was an amazing way to start the meal. Followed by empanadas (we got all of them), and the lomo saltado. Customer service was amazing and made us feel at home. Thank you Manuel and team! Definitely coming back soon.
This place was just a disappointment. The food looked pretty but had absolutely no flavor whatsoever, it was under seasoned, bland, the opposite of what one would expect from a Peruvian restaurant. Even the yucca fries lacked any sort of depth.
Also, there was something wrong with the beef in my dish, it was tough and smelled/tasted old.
The service was meh, the drinks nothing too exciting, no real redeeming quality. Def not going back.
Again, I really feel like this place is racist lol. I called for white rice and quarter chicken yesterday, ask the lady for two sauces she brushed me off said ok. When I came in asked her if she gave me white rice and two sauces she says ok. Get to my house and come to see yellow rice and no sauce with my food. You can charge me extra for dark meat but can’t even listen to my order properly. This is not the first time. Always feel lesser when I come to this place. Food is great but don’t think this is a place for my people honestly.
This place is definitely delicious with classic Peruvian options, just really expensive even for New York City, otherwise it’d be 5 stars. There are maybe 1 or 2 entree options under $35, which is intense! That being said, enjoyed the atmosphere and the food.
Love this place. Solid Peruvian food with good service. It can get a bit loud inside on hot days due to the number of fans running but they keep it comfortable.
They've recently developed the habit of having the most terrible performances which makes a visit out for the question no matter how good the food is. Not only that but the music is SO loud it leaks out to the street and to neighboring buildings.
