Port Byron Travel Plaza reviews
27This station has multiple bathroom stalls and changing tables. They ask that people stay 6 feet away in the plaza, which also includes a Boston Pizza kiosk, McDonald's Kiosks, and Eddy's ice cream kiosk. The food at the pizza place and McDonald's was what you would expect for a service station and not bad. I was disappointed that while I was there in line waiting at the Eddy's counter willing to fork over 4.50 for a square inch of fudge and the lights were on, but no one came to the counter to take my order. I was also not impressed by the fact that the server in the pizza place casually dropped my garlic knot on the counter and still proceeded to place it on the plate to be warmed. When I asked her for a different one, she replaced it, but then passively continued to tell me she wipes down the counter every 20 minutes and that the 600 degree oven would take care of any bacteria.
Staff were friendly and helpful. Gas
prices are ok. Beware on prices on menu, that are high $$!
Very convenient and has amenities that are sometimes needed to continue traveling. It was busy at the time so we just used the facilities and continued on our way.
It is is ok, 2 slices of pizza for $10.00 is not what I consider very good especially for mediocre pizza.
Clean inside, but people to close to each other, entry way and, doors area, should be clean to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
The older guy working the McDonald's counter gave me first-class service. He made me fresh fries, etc. Absolutely outstanding.
No toilet paper in any of the regular bathrooms had to use handicap bathroom and the attendant was standing in the corner doing nothing
I stopped at the Port Byron service station to use the facilities. Unfortunately they were quite filthy. The toilets were dirty and water was all over the floor. There was only toilet paper in one stall and soap at only at one sink.
Busy but clean and I really enjoy the local farmer’s stand that’s outside. Good place for souvenirs and gas and clean restrooms.
We occasionally stop here while traveling and everything was good here. Nice rest stop on the Thruway. Fine dining, convenience store, etc. All aroun d clean and orderly facilities.
Your standard Thruway travel plaza. Gas prices are extremely reasonable however most food and souvenirs are outrageously priced.
I love that stop and all the places in it great place to stop at when you need to rest or if you need to get something
You will definitely pay extra for the convenience of not getting off the tollway. Next time, I would probably just get off the tollway for better selection.
Very expensive mcdonals. Big mc meal is almost $10. Never go there. Never buy fish burger. Really poor.
We stopped today and I want commend the cleanliness of the rest area, particularly the rest rooms. I met Fran and she is doing a great job making it a clean and comfortable area! Thank you!
The men's toilets were worse than a condemned outhouse. Flies in nearly every stall, an unpleasant odor, and I can't estimate the last time they may have been cleaned.
McDonald's was understaffed, three people walked away while I waited to complain about the restrooms. The cook didn't change his gloves before handling food again. I'll go hungry, thank you.
Reststop was clean. Stores had interesting NY gear. I loved the t-shirts and sweatshirts. Good deals. All the beverages and snacks one could desire. Nice historical displays. I love NY reststops. They set the bar for all others.
Best thing about the New York State Thruway is the ability to pull off to a convenient rest stop.
I guess its everything one could expect from a rest area. It has McDonald's and a Mobil station.
