7 We took a dog based on their description and within two days I was bitten six times and my husband twice. My hand got infected and required a dr and meds When I saw the assessment from the shelter, he was described as anxious, biter and not to be with children. We told rescue we had young grands and that didn’t seem to matter. To make it worse, the dog was a New Hope, free to the rescue with all vetting done. They charged us $500 for him. I strongly recommend staying away from these people.
Photos of both hands, bloody and bruised
I do not recommend working with this Shelter. As much as all these lovely furry friends need a home the women behind the scenes is not worth the heartache. We were approved to meet and adopt a new guy when the “emails got crossed” and the dog was adopted. It took me emailing multiple times just to get this news. Jessica is a sweet heart, she really tried her hardest to help us on the journey but whom ever is in charge, doesn’t seem to have the common courtesy to write out emails and let people know of the situation in its entirety.
Do not use this rescue to foster a dog. She was 0 help and tried not to pay for the vet bills. She made little to no effort to help get our foster dog adopted; we still have him a year later and all she is worried about is her adoption fee. $500 for a dog from a kill shelter.
The absolute best! The support I have gotten from Donna has been incredible. Here is a pic of Tua for perspective.
I adopted my Chrome through Pound Hounds ResQ. I live in Pa. I chose a dog that was Euthanasia listed at the NYCACC. Donna handled everything for me. We spoke several times and went over possible issues. After Crome came to live with me, she called to see how he was and if I was having any problems or concerns. Even now, months after the adoption, when I post a photo or comment on a post, she asks how he is.
They rescued and transported my wonderful boy, Blue, across state to me. Everyone involved was wonderful and had Blue's comfort and safety in the front of their minds. PHR does amazing work. Step up and foster today!
