Proper Food reviews
11This place has changed my life. The chicken curry soup is life changing. Wow. I could eat that soup every day. Also the staff is so kind and amazing. I love this place.
I couldn’t finish my meal, the chicken had dark spots that should not be there, too expensive for this poor quality, I had to throw out the dish it was a waste of 18 dollars.
It's a grab and go. It advertises "from scratch" but it's clearly assembly made food. A notch above gas station sandwiches. A small wrap was $12+. So so at best.
The food is good quality, but the price is insane. I paid 15$ for a turkey sandwich with a normal sized sliced bread. Insane.
It was relatively healthy but still had 27g of fat. It was the lowest fat item I could find except the salads, which were equally expensive and I would have had to throw the condiments, which are 20% of the package.
Overall healthy but lacking in a few areas. I am a regular here as i live down the street and have eaten almost everything in the shop. The food is healthy and tastes well but please avoid the Lamb Wrap. You probably get 1 gram of protein and all rice. Definitely an issue that needs to be resolved.
Miso Tofu Stir Fry was amazing. Tender fresh vegetables, fresh brown rice and flavorful tofu. Didn’t expect it to be this good. They heat it up for you right in the store using a high pressured convection oven. Recommended.
First time having heard of place and stopping in. Picked up the Green Tea Soba Noodle with Chicken box. The chicken was not at all tasty. Has a weird, nasty taste…. Very much like the air hit it…IYKYK what that describes.
Liked the noodle but they were a bit overcooked to me and the serving paltry. Peanut sauce is good but very salty so I’m sure its not healthy…. Carrots and cabbage were carrots and cabbage. For 15.00 I was definitely expecting better…wish it was because I love soba noodles and miss the place off 5th Avenue that had the best soba noodle and chicken salad…. I gather this is what Proper Food was going for but totally misses the mark…. Sadly.
I love everything about this place. Except for that fact that they’re not open on weekends. Every one of the staff is awesome and the food is all delicious and very reasonably priced.
Update: we moved away but my husband and I regularly reminisce about how much we miss this place. In retrospect, I would give it more than 5 stars if I could.
Good in a pinch— I go there when I only have a short lunch break, as they have healthy pre-made food and many vegan and vegetarian options. It’s a bit overpriced and the portions are mid-small. My favorite thing is their frozen energy bar, but the tofu and broccoli dish is decent too. They close early, so make sure you check their hours!
The food is healthy, yummy, and inexpensive.a win in my book) Ra was working this morning when I came in for a breakfast burrito and was extremely kind. It was a pleasure to speak with him this morning.
Got this meal through meal pal. The staff was so nice and helpful! They let me warm up the food there and even let me try the roasted tomato truffle soup (AMAZING) can’t wait go get it on a cold day. The steak lunch meal was good, a hearty balance of vegetables, definitely a portion of only what you need, not over indulgent. But the food was good and tasty!
