P.S. 084 Lillian Weber, New York NY

Our child got accepted in the language program and that's the only program we had applied for at this school (we had other options). We accepted this and were looking forward to it as the program fits our family's background. Then in end-June we hear from asst-principal Acevedo that they had taken our child out of the dual language program and put them in the ICT class instead. We emailed Acevedo that that was against our wishes. Never heard back. It was mean-spirited to take a child out a classroom that fits their cultural and ethnic background and shove them like an animal into some other classroom against their parents' wishes. We did not feel our child would be safe or cared for at this school and made alternate plans. We let the school principal and superintendent know, but never heard back either. Maybe no-one at this school knows how to read emails? ! Then mid-September we got a call about when the child was coming to school. So disorganized! We told them the child was not going to their school, ever. I wouldn't recommend any child to go to this school unless they change their rude, disorganized and ineffective leadership.

I happen to be sitting at home thinking about the good old days and PS 84 is/was definitely one of my most memorable places. I only spent 2 years there (1st and 2nd grade) with Ms. Chase and she was an awesome teacher. The things I learned there, other than the normal stuff, like songs and activities I ended up teaching my own kids. And I learned these things YEARS AGO! I’m 37 now so imagine In fact, Im still in contact with some of my friends that went there with me. I wish could’ve sent my kids there to the same teachers I had. The pics posted for the school really took me back. From playing stoop ball on the side of the building (No one probably remembers how that was played lol) to doing back flips off in the playground and off the jungle jims. Even the benches are still there for when we got in trouble and had to sit for 5 minutes OMG lol. All in all, the staff was great and as well as the environment. PS 84 is truly a place to get a great education and to build memories

I Go To This School it is amazing but honestly yesterday two five grade classes had a problem and my class wasn’t there when it happened so now for the rest of the year we have to sit with our colored groups which means we can’t sit with our friends and they say “you need to make new friends” yes I know that I know everyone in my group and they say lunch is the time to talk to your friends and now we can’t talk to our friends and it’s my last year here and I have to do this.
