I love this place. A true Mom & Pop gem. I’ve been eating here for years and have never had a bad meal. Dine in or take out is always great!

This is the first time i do something like this! In this restaurant they are wrong regarding the service and the prices of the meals. First you have to make a good reputation for the flavors of the food you sell. If what you sell is of equal or lower quality than any other normal restaurant, you can't treat your place like it's 5 stars! Bad service and the food is nothing special! I do not recommend it unless it is the only place where you live, which is my situation!

The service here was horrible. I went to celebrate for someones birthday and waited an hour and a half for the food. I was told they had an issue with the chef and not enough personnel and should have been told that from the beginning. I have been here so many times and used to love the food. The food tonight was terrible and we didnt even receive an apology after waiting for so long. They lost a long customer.

Been going here for years and always loved it! A family owned spot with great food and service. Order the Pernil, some empanadas, and cold drink and they will take care of the rest.

Horrible customer service (100 degrees inside and the AC was broken. No apologies, no solutions when I asked, they just shrugged lol)

overpriced, you can eat 2 meals in any of your local Dominican restaurants and it would be just as good, if not better. I left hungry. Small portions

Waited 40 minutes and no came to take our order food might be good but work on your Customer service we walked out

Have LOVED this place for years, BUT their hours of operation and closed days are consistently confusing, especially since they never update their hours and info anywhere online. Nobody wants to arrive at a restaurant and be surprised each time. Especially since this place is kinda remote. This has happened a lot.

Secondly, expect to wait close to 20-30 minutes for your meal, even on slow days when dining. I've ordered take out as well, where they don't even meet the pick up time, where I'd have to wait up to an hour, after the initial pick up time.

Beautiful place, lovely staff, fantastic food, but horrible operations.

I live in the area and order all the time but lately I have had a problem with the plantains not being cooked all the pay the steak missing sauces and then being over cooked
In 2 days I spent $100 and when I called to let them know I complaint on the food and talking to a manager to assist me I was told to call after 5 and who ever the lady that was there that was the manager didn’t want to come on the phone with me and rectify the situation

Just 1 block away on Pacific st but I will NEVER order from here again you should treat people this way who have supported you for years in the community I am so disappointed that they could just take my money and not send me a new order or give me a discount on my next order

I was one of the first costumers and always brought people but I will not support anymore I will just order from Castillo the food is always cooked well and they have the best customer service

Went here for date night during restaurant week. Food was 5/5, service 4/5 (maybe if I had spoken Spanish I'd have received better attention from waiter)

Haven't been here for a while and when I first walked up I was confused. Same location but the place looked amazing, I love the change! The food was great, but regret I had to take out. Definitely returning with rhe family because the vibe is awesome and still the same owner after 37years, you know the food is good!

The food was so good and the selection of choices is refreshing. The vegetarian/ vegan option was actually fresh vegetables that were not over cooked, contained flavors and not a meat substitute. The shrimp dish came with a good amount of pieces and garlic sauce was delicious. I personally had the oxtails and it was delicious the sauce was light and the meat tender. I could actually cut the meat off the bone.

Plantain chips for the table to share and don’t skip on the oxtail and sweet plantain empanada. It’s only one empanada, but it’s big enough to share especially if you’re getting main dishes.

Also, the staff was very friendly. We walked in 45 minutes before closing and they happily sat us. (I must mention happily because I’ve enter establishments that begrudgingly sat me before closing and the lack of service showed.)

Good quality and tasty food. Reasonably priced. Chill laidback weekend vibe— would definitely come back. Cesar was great!

Great spot tucked away on Grand. Delicious tostones, mofongo, pasteles de hojas, etc.with lots of vege options. Try the Pisqueya hot sauce!

Very good food. The venue is comfortable and staff is very friendly. Area comfortable and there are good sights to be had. Well done team, recommend the pork chops!

Really great spot for amazing food and friendly service. The Cuban had the most perfect cheese I’ve ever had on a Cuban, or sandwich in general. The bistec encebollado was one of my favorite dishes. Excited to come back! Plenty of outdoor and indoor seating.

The upselling and upcharging at this place is insane. QR menus (which they make you scan) are outdated. Food has been backsliding for years.

My second time here. Everything continues to be delicious. Pictured: beef empanadas, tostones, cubano, black beans, and pernil.

I feel transported to the DR when I go here and then I am like wait how did I teleport from New York city to the Dominican Republic. I have work on Monday and I don't have my passport. But the food is so good I don't even think about it. 10/10
