Pumpernickel's Deli, Restaurant and Catering, New Hartford NY

I had an amazing Reuben sandwich here today and I would highly recommend this place because of it

Pumpernickel's never fails to disappoint. They have an enormous variety of sandwiches and dinners. And somehow, everytime I go, the food always tastes fresh and delicious, which makes it my go-to sandwich place.
At my recent visit, I got a Baked Haddock with a baked potato. It was delicious and I had plenty of leftovers.

The service was absolutely terrible, when I called to place my order the women was absolutely rude she gave me an attitude the entire time I was trying to place my order continuously saying “is that it yet” I ordered 3 sandwiches and a slice of pie was told an hour I was 5 minutes later, when I walked in I was told to stand by the pick up table while all the workers walked by never once asked who the pick up was for until I stood there for 20 minutes and then asked if my food was ready.the food was still not done for another 30 minutes. And when we asked to split the bill (told them on the phone and they said it wouldn’t be an issue to do it at the time of paying) got a huge attitude. Food was cold but taste was good.

My husband & I went for his birthday lunch, we went last year for his bday dinner, and it was very good. Not so this time. The quality was definitely lacking, we were both very disappointed.

appetizers, and the sandwiches? Oh my gosh they are great and way way way overstuffed!

In Utica today for a softball game and looked for a place for a bite to eat.this deli did not disappoint! Lunch was delicious and the servicewas very good.

So fresh and consistent. We love the beet salad, Reubens, and Philly Cheese steak. The haddock is also fresh and amazing!

This is another place im hesitant to tell about, cuz its so good im worried ill never get a seat again, lol.

My Grandma, Aunt, and Mom all liked this place, and so ive come over the years with my own wife and kids.

The service is always brisk, efficient, and cheerful. The food is great.

I always get a Reuben, cuz they make the best in the area. They had Saranac (local brand!) Pumpkin Ale, on tap! I cant even find it in the stores.

As usual, we brought some home. Prices are reasonable. A good old fashioned family run restaurant.:)

Great place. Nyc themed sandwich salad and burger place. They had more than that too. Nice people, quiet environment and over all good. It was a nice experience. I reccomend the eggplant fries.

Excellent service and food. Desserts tasted completely homemade and were amazing. Best cheesecake I've ever had. Big portions make it a good value, as well.

Great menu! Hard to choose one thing from the specials, triple decker sandwiches, paninis and more.

The best Corn beef sandwich. I have EVER had in MY LIFE! I am a food critic! Growing up in NY! We loved everything we ordered and we will definitely be back! All I can say! AMAZING! The hush puppies taste better at the Pumpernick then they do in the south (where I have visited family). Shhhh don't tell my southern side of the family.and the fish and chips.well it's New England Boston shores in upper state NY but better.

Tonight my wife and I ordered fish fry's to go. I place our order at 4: 45 pm with a pick up time of 6: 45 pm. As I arrived and went inside I could see it was very busy. I gave my name and after waiting patiently for over a half an hour the owner (Phil) came to me and apologized for the long wait and offered a certificate on our next purchase. I told him thank you and understand the situation. Phil, the wait was definitely worth it and would do it over again. One of the best fish fry's I had in a while! My wife and I come at least once a month and will continue to support your establishment.

Their food is amazing. Wait staff is courteous and attentive. The wait was longer than normal it seemed to be seated and get our food. But it was a covid Friday. No fault of their own.

I just got a panini from pumpernickels and I have to say that I am dissatisfied. There was turkey on my pickle which I didn’t order turkey. Leads me to believe that cross contamination is an issue. My bread on my Buffalo chicken panini was already soggy when I started eating it. Should not have been soggy by that time. The sandwich was not impressive. I think I’ll just hang on to going to Panera from now on.
