17The place is a joke. Stock is never available in-store, employees are constantly on their phones, and they botched my son’s sharpening to the point they needed a new profiling. I’ve kept going back because local options are limited but I’m done now. Whatever you do don’t give this place your business. They don’t deserve it.
Purchased skates for my son. Personnel listened to what I was looking for and discussed several options. He measured my sons feet and patiently helped him try on several different skates to get the ones my son liked best. The experience was very easy and stress free. We received a complimentary skate sharpening. I will be back as I have been many times before.
This is the only only store in the greater Albany area, where you can purchase high quality hockey gear for good prices. This is the one stop shop for all your gear. Anything you need, you can just come here and buy. The few things you may not find in the store, you can almost always order it on their online website, and it will come in a matter of days. The staff here are also very friendly, and they will help you with finding what you need.
Billy was very helpful with skate fitting (Bauer fitting machine) and wasn't pushy about downsizing to the suggested fit even though I didn't buy skates from there. I kept my existing ones and got them heated to help break in and got inserts.
Excellent service at Pure Hockey, Clifton Park store. Had an issue, Billy took care of it. Well done!
Great, friendly staff, I always have a good experience and we’re in there a lot. Huge selection with good quality selection.
I had a terrible experience. The guy who "helped" me was rude on several occasions and extremely condescending. I went to buy a stick for my son, and was relying on a sales person to make sure I got it right. Not only did this guy treat me poorly, but the stick he sold me- which he assured me I would get 2 seasons out of- I was informed by coaching staff at practice is too small. So now I have to buy another stick. I am so mad at the double whammy of being treated badly and being sold a product I cant use.
Nearly incompetent staff, could not provide a single pair of skates in my child’s size. Their CCM technology would not work and their Bauer technology gave two different skate style recommendations each time my child stood on the machine. Thus, I ordered CCM 9090’s online with the sizing recommended by Pure Hockey in Clifton Park. Skates were just delivered and the size recommended is too small by an entire size!
Skate sharpening is cheap, and the quality is not as bad as everyone says. Although, it depends on who is doing the sharpening. Lot of kids working there, so the service is not always good. In terms of equipment, there's a good/large selection.
Goalies are some of the most important players in hockey, yet when I went into this store they didnt offer one piece of goalie equipment. What a shame, my business is elsewhere.
New management is brutal. Spent over an hour just for a simple question & skate sharpens when there was only 3 skates in front of me. Sales reps gave incorrect advice to parents regarding skates and sticks. Brutal
Really the only option in the area for consistent high quality hockey gear. They generally have what you are looking for.
Just wasn't what I expected, commercials make it seem so.official. I asked for help, I waited probably more than 10 minutes and finally dropped the things I was going to purchase and I left. That's what I get for trying "something new. " I've been going to the same place for YEARS and get the same great service every time, so really why change!? Sorry Hockey Giant, I tried it, I hated it!
I am a hard to fit senior and the people at this store were more than accommodating with my special needs regarding my flatter than normal arch. The politeness and hard work that went into my sale was very appreciated by me. When I thanked the store manager, he thanked me back. I am writing this to in some small way thank the great staff at the store.
Store is awesome for hockey fans! Great inventory on we've but hockey skates which is what's holding it back from 5 stars. Staff are helpful and not pushy.
This store has all the hockey items and hockey gear that you need. They also let you get your skates sharpened for $5.00
