Qué Arepa! reviews
7Horrible! They changed the entire menu! The arepas taste horrible, very dry, they went up in price, before they tasted very good, what a disappointment to go shopping and they give you something completely different from what they promise, I will never buy here again
Awful. If I lived closer I’d ask for a refund.
The original owner rented out the cart/name. They offer the original menu but the food is awful. I always order the Maduro to and it usually the perfect combo of sweet and savory. But my order today was unappetizing. The meat in the arepas is poorly seasoned and dry with an odd taste.
The arepa is dry and flavorless not sweet as it was previously served.
To say I’m disappointed is an understatement.
Do not order from here. You will be left hungry and angry
They are not consistent. They constantly change chefs. They have lost quality. These are simple arepas. My mouth tastes like seasoning. He doesn't know Colombian arepa. They are not worth the price. They make you wait a long time. I came from so far just to try something so simple and something I can do better. Not good.
I thought everything was very expensive for what it was, the filling is not well seasoned. The truth is I went to try it but we won't be back.everyone was bored with what they asked for
I had high expectations and specially for the cheese Arepas and honestly I was let down. The cheese Arepas it was really plain, simple and dry. When usually our Colombian street Arepas they tend to be hacehave flavorful, cheesy, has cheese inside and on top (not as an additional topping) but most of all the sweetness of condense milk. So that’s why I wasn’t happy with my purchase. I felt like if I bought an Arepa at the supermarket and barely grilled it.
My partner got a sweet corn arepa and if it wasn’t that he asked for the cheese on top, it would have also been a disappointment. Obviously we don’t have a picture of it since we ended up sharing it since we were hungry.
Ordered the #1 (chicken arepa) and #5 (chicharron arepa), and the lady didn't even know her own menu, and was confused when we ordered it by number. That should've been a sign for us to not eat here. Also, some man drinking a beer kept popping into the food cart to randomly do some things in there. Also a bad sign, unprofessional.
When the lady handed me the plastic bag, she was wearing black gloves that looked like it had raw meat on it. Whatever it was, it was oily and made the takeout bag oily also.
The shredded chicken had a weird lemony taste to it, but also a bleach taste to it. Almost like they use some strong chemicals to clean their cooking surfaces and the chemicals got into the food. The chicharron was not well cooked, excessively oily, and also had a weird plastic aftertaste. The arepa also had a weird aftertaste. Everything just tasted really strange and made me feel queasy eating it, not exaggerating. We ended up throwing out the food because it was just so awful and really strange tasting. I hope we don't get food poisoning from this place
